Com For Care Assisted Living

Com for Care is a wonderful place. We needed a new place for my wife's 93 and 87 year old parents after they were not getting the care they needed at another assisted living facility. We were in the midst of a number of very difficult family health issues. [Name Removed]and her team have provided more than we could have ever hoped for. The small care home is not lavish, but the care is first class. The stability of the staff and their positive approach works so well. The history and continuity of care here is really unheard of in the elder care world. We did a lot of research and have a lot of experience with elderly parents and we can not say enough good things about Com for Care. They came through and literally changed our life for the better.

My loved one is a resident at Com For Care and things are great for her. They listened to her concerns and addressed them. The home cooking also make a difference for her. I would recommend them to others.

I had an unusual experience because my loved one got Covid right when she moved in. The type of care is somewhere between assisted living and a nursing home, so I wouldn't really call it strictly assisted living. They have nurses there part of the day, but not all the time. They have other caretakers that under TX law can administer medications that the nurse has already overseen dosage. But the care my loved one got was fine. They have a nice hospital bed in each bedroom. She had a room with a bath. But they ended up bathing her in the bed based on her condition. They took the residents to get Covid shots, and my loved one passed away the day after her Covid shot. Most of the residents there are every infirm. But the nurses that run it are very capable. Again, they're not there all the time, and it appears they're not there on the weekends, just the general caretakers. It looks like they're billing me for the month after she died, so I'll have to look into that. As far as assisted living goes, it's probably cheaper than the larger communities, but it's a little different. At this facility, they're able to give oxygen though, whereas another assisted living wouldn't. There's not much activities for the residents. There's a lady that comes in part time to work with them. They do give decent meals, but the food is not as good on the weekends.

They are awesome here, I love the staff. The value is spot on and unbelievable. This is the best place to put your loved one. This is a big peace of mind, your loved one is well cared for, and the staff are attentive. The food always smells good when I visit. The community is allowing window visits; however, if you are an essential caregiver you will be able to visit in person. The staff are always happy to see me.

My 92 year old mother had been a resident in University Place for almost a decade and finally reached the point where she needed more care than they could provide as her dementia had worsened and her will to eat vanished. She was placed on hospice, and at the recommendation of her Nurse Practitioner, we moved her to Com For Care. Our family was flabbergasted at the amount of personal care they provided for an extremely reasonable price when compared to the cost at University Place. All the meals I saw were prepared with fresh, not canned ingredients and smelled delicious. She was attended to night and day and always with a kind and caring attitude. It was evident that everyone truly cared. We had a camera in her room, with the owner's permission, so that we could keep a close eye on my mother since she had fallen before and could see that someone checked on her regularly during the night encouraging her to eat and drink and attending to any needs. They tried everything to encourage her to eat including pureeing food, providing ice cream, making milk shakes and smoothies, spoon feeding her, and everything else we and they could think of, but to no avail as my mother only lived a few more weeks. When she died, we were notified immediately. As her death approached, they spoke with each family member when they visited to help them come to accept that she was dying and that they were there to help in any way they could. When she died, they were in no rush to empty her room for the next person as many places are and only charged us for the time my mother was alive, not the entire last month. I wholeheartedly recommend [name removed] and Com For Care. I believe that they will provide unrivaled care for your loved ones. Not that it matters, but I have been an RN for more than 2 decades and know what excellent care is. This is as good as it gets. You will feel like family here.

Com for Care has very beautiful homes. Loving and caring staff who have been with the company for many years. Run by nurses and has Doctors that comes to visit residents. Location is perfect for families who live in West U and Bellaire. The food is amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect place for Mom or Dad.

STAY AWAY NOOOOO GOOD OPERATING WITHOUT A LICENSE THE FOOD IS BAD AND THE CAREGIVERS DO NOTHING BUT WATCH TV AND THE OWNER IS MONEY HUNGRY

I liked the Leader St home and am interested in the private room in the back. [Name removed] and [name removed] are going to see my mom at [removed] on Monday afternoon.

Very impressed with owner & quality of care. Have some concern re location in business section of Bellaire.
