Every stage of Alzheimer's and every person afflicted with this debilitating disease deserves a home that fits his/her current needs. My mother was diagnosed 7 years ago and as my family has moved, she have lived in various types of facilities. As she worsened, a secure memory care unit with 30+ residents was unable to provide the level of intimate care I felt she really needed. We have only been at Colorado Assisted Living Home #11 for a week now, but I am pleased that her transition was mostly smooth (they are never easy on anyone) and she has adjusted quite well. She is with 4 other residents all functioning at a similar level and this makes care and conversation appropriate. The caregiver has been excellent. As we needed to make this move fairly quickly, the folks on the business end made the transition as smooth as possible. So far, I am very pleased.... Read more
