All of the staff are excellent! If they don't see a resident at least once during the day, they ALWAYS check on them. The facilities department is super responsive if something needs to be fixed. Housekeeping comes to each apartment every other week, and they do a great job. The activities are good - wish there were more. I also think that if they communicated more/differently to the residence, there would be more participation. The faculty is always very clean. I think the biggest area of opportunity is the food. I do think it may be due to staffing stress. Hoping that stabilizes so it improves. My sister and I would definitely recommend Coburg Village to other families. After moving from her home of 60 years, our mom had to adjust. All of the staff have been wonderful and she has the BEST neighbors! She is now so happy and comfortable in her apartment - she loves her screened in porch!... Read more

My mom was a resident for just over a year and a half. She really enjoyed it an I was comfortable knowing that if she didn't show for a meal they would check on her. Unfortunately she developed some health issues that were beyond the scope of the care there and had to move to assisted living. We had dinner there a couple of times and I enjoyed lunch in the bistro with her.

When my mother moved to Coburg 12 years ago it was FANTASTIC. The food was great. There were a TON of off campus activities (for an extra fee, of course) and special events. The campus and individual living areas were meticulously maintained. The residents had a voice and ANY problems they had were immediately addressed. I can not, in good conscience, recommend Coburg to new residents. The food now is no better than rubber chicken dinner/cafeteria grub. Complaints/requests go unanswered. There are no special events and very few "off campus" activities are even offered these days, at any price. The best thing about Coburg is that there is no buy-in to live there, so you can leave as soon as your lease is up without losing $50k+ Bottom line...Coburg Village used to be great and now it's just an over-priced nursing home with no nursing care.

Response from Coburg Village
May 5, 2020Dear Sad Daughter- Firstly I am so sorry that you had this experience. I am new to The Marketing Team at Coburg Village and this is unfortunately my first time seeing this review. I am hopeful that many of these issues were resolved, as this is an older review, I am not sure what your situation is now as it relates to Coburg Village. Should you wish to contact me at [removed], and I'd be happy to discuss your experience further and do appreciate your feedback. Thank you!
My parents moved in almost two years ago now. They are both in the 80s and loving it. They are more active now than ever, have daily interaction with others their own age, have made friends and have a social life they could not have while living in their home. It has freed them of the daily concerns of trying to care for a house and replaced it with stress free living. The apartments are beautiful and spacious and the area has much to offer.

Response from Coburg Village
May 5, 2020Thank you for your very kind words. It is our true pleasure to provide the residents of Coburg Village and with a maintenanceFREE, resort style retirement community experience.
This is a friendly and welcoming place. The food is outstanding. When you enter one of the four dining areas you are encouraged to join others. There is entertainment at least three nights per week. Swimming pool, putting green and bocci just a few of the activities. Very spacious grounds beautifully landscaped. Apartments have all the amenities to make your senior years comfortable.

A Place for Mom has scored Coburg Village 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
