Our mother moved to Cité Parkway a little while ago. Coming back from a lengthy stay in hospital and an invasive surgery, she had to rely on the care of the medical staff of the residence to regain her autonomy. Being a professional in the field of health sciences I am very impressed by the high level of quality of services she is receiving in her journey back to health and autonomy. As a family we also feel that our mother is in a very beautiful environment, the staff always places the residents and their families at the centre of their intervention. The atmosphere at the residence is friendly and inviting. As family members and principal caregivers for our mother, we always look forward to visiting her at the residence. Cité Parkway Residence became our first choice as it was meeting the needs and expectations of our mother. She keeps telling us how she enjoys her apartment and especially the friendliness and quality of the services she is receiving whether it be in terms of the quality of the meals, the medical care or the hair salon. In a nut shell, we feel part of a family at Cité Parkway Residence.

Staff is very friendly. The residence is very clean. My mother complains about the food. She is not a picky eater but says the food is not tasty, the menu is always the same and not enough fruits nd vegetables. It's not cheap and you would expect better meals.

We have my mother in law in memory lane floor. We have to thank all the staff and management as well as the nurses and the doctor in keeping everyone safe there covid 19 free. We are so happy that they took all the necessary major and locked down the home for all visitors early on which made big difference. And we do love the photos that they send every week keep up the good work

Very informative tour with the Lifestyle Director [name removed]. The residence is lovely and staff made us feel welcome right from the start. Everything you could possibly want is available there.

Excellent location and very friendly front office staff. It is not a bilingual facility in any way, most staff speak very poor to no English. The nursing staff is good quality however overall, it is very understaffed for the necessary levels of service and the price you are paying. Activity profile is good. Food is ok at best. In comparison to [location removed], this is certainly a bit below in service standard and food quality.

My mom moved in in [date removed] and it has taken her a long time to get used to the move. In general, the Cite Parkway is providing the good for my mother. However, there is not enough fresh fruits and vegetables. I wish they would have fruit available all day. The units are a little small. It would have been slightly more comfortable for my mom if she had more space and a larger counter space in the kitchenette.

Still too new a facility, did not feel quite homey yet. Very clean and well appointed rooms. A bit more expensive than we can afford. Nice bathrooms, very accessible. City park nearby.

Cite Parkway has everything that my mother needs. I was impressed with how inviting the staff was for family involvement too. It’s a clean, well appointed facility that allows for aging in place.

This residence is very beautiful and new. I put my mother there as we were renovating her house. She was in the memory unit. STAFFING They are understaffed. I repeatedly requested that my mother, who in addition to dementia has arthritis to engage in exercise or other programs. They would say that they asked and she would say no. She has dementia. I felt that a better effort could have been made. As a result, when she came home her pain was worse as she had not walked enough TRAINING I saw one staff member come behind a resident and say bonjour bonjour very quickly to startle her. I have my doubts as to the level of training and competency PERSONAL CARE My mothers teeth were NEVER brushed. I had bought her underwear but they remained in their packages. They did manage to shower my mother. CLEANLINESS Each time I visited my mother, there was toilet paper on the floor, by the bed and it appeared that the room had not been swept. MEALS I observed that the quality of the food was substandard. There was never a bowl of fruit for the residents in the locked ward. The juice was probably frozen, the soups were watery with chunks of vegetables. I shared brunch with my mother and the occasional dinner, for this we went to the main dining room and each time, the meal quality was very poor. MEDICAL ERRORS My mother had her medications delivered by her pharmacy. This caused no end of confusion, despite being delivered by my pharmacy and I checked...they lost her medication. After some confusion and checking of drawers etc it was found. I am not sure they apologized to the pharmacy. Such a mistake is unacceptable as she was without medication for a day. They transferred her prescription to a pharmacy that they work with but upon her discharge did not automatically transfer her back. This incompetency will be the subject of a more serious complaint on my behalf. LASTLY My mother has dementia and needed to be taken outside or at least in a location where there was recreational activities taking place. I felt she was warehoused and this is unacceptable for respite care. OVERALL COMMENTS This residence has good potential but is not adequately staffed, has very poor quality food and there was no opportunity that I could see for stimulation of dementia patients. Merely warehousing them will cause a precipitous decline. In my opinion, unless you as a facility are very well prepared to deal with the special needs of a dementia patient do not offer this service.
