This is an AWFUL place to stay! The nurses are mean and pretty rigid and admin is not much better. The food is really BAD. I’m not sure what it actually was. This place should actually be closed down!

As of this writing, I have been a resident at The Chateau for what I had hoped would be reasonably short-term, staring in [date removed]. This would be "assisted living" because it was considered that with the illness present, I would need professional medical care and treatment When COVID arrived in March, 2020, and being age 65 and older, I found myself obliged under the rules of the Center for Disease Control to have to remain here until I was considered to have recovered my health, and to be able to return home. To date, I have not been given any sign that my stay here as age 65 and older is likely to come to an end -- and sadly as my health stands now, I could not return home to live independently. I pray that I will be able to return home eventually. Right now, all I can do is make the best of my current circumstances (with moral support from church and family). Please pray for me that situations will become livable. Thank you.

This is an appalling facility. This site does not seem to have a photo function but if it did I would post the horrific photos of my mother’s bed sores. She was there only 8 days. She was not dressed for 3 days. She was in the same night clothes for three days. My sister finally dressed her. She did not see the bedsores as she could only help my mother dress while She was in the bed. My mother had a stroke/tia while there which was only noticed by family members. When pointed out to the nursing staff that it appeared our mother had suffered/was experiencing a stroke, they didn’t immediately call 911 but called the facility doctor first, wasting time waiting for him to call back and who then told them to call 911. Really? What kind of training/protocols do they have? The horrific bedsores were discovered in the ER. My poor mother died in hospital after suffering a second, severe stroke within 48 hours of the one in this nursing facility. She was in “skilled care” for short term rehab which she did not receive at Chateau. She went from a normal elderly person looking forward to being up and around with the help of the skilled care PT and OT so she could go home, to dead within 8 days. Not an even a poor facility. Very bad in fact. Very bad. Should be called a die-ing facility. Certainly not a “living” facility.

My husband was there after a stroke for therapy. The therapists were great, all the nurses were wonderful. The place was very clean and the aides did a great job. The problem there was the Doctor who refused to approve for my husband to stay past the 20 day initial insurance approval. He needs to understand that a younger person progresses quicker than an older person does. His therapists said he was doing great so that is a problem for me that Doctor refused anymore days. He was sent home with Home Health which is not what he needs.

The staff was supportive during sign in. The process was good and thorough. Nursing seems to be good. The staff are very friendly, supportive. It is very clean and simplistic. The dining experience could use some help. My loved one doesn't like the turkey and doesn't eat it. He liked the pizza, desserts, and juices. I don't ask many questions or visit as often, but I don't know about doctor or physical therapy updates.

We are pleased so far. The therapy is very good. We had one incident with a nurse, but all others are great. The staff care is very good. The bathroom needs some work. Weekends are not as good for food.

I am pretty pleased. I am comfortable with my loved one being there. The therapists are nice and good. The nurses are good also. The majority of the staff is friendly. Maybe servers at lunch are the least friendly, and the laundry lady. The food seems good and my loved one is not complaining, so she seems happy with it. My only concern has been some of her clothes going missing. No one reaches out, but when I'm there I can speak with them. I make myself available for certain things to talk with them.

The service and cleanliness was very good and all the staff was helpful. My loved one said rehab therapy was good. The staff always greeted me and were very nice. I never had a problem with any of the staff. They are very good at keeping me informed. I do not have any complaints about that. I was a little depressed with the condition of the other residents. It was not a place I would want to be. If you go in the morning, when you walk in there is a urine smell, but later in the day it is gone.

When the call light is pressed, it takes a great deal of time to receive help. The floor in the rooms could use some better cleaning. I have run into some obstacles with the meals thus far. The facility takes a while to implement requests, and the requests coincide with my medical needs so at times I have not been able to eat the food. I have had some trouble communicating with the staff regarding the meal plan. The communication with the dietary department could improve.

A Place for Mom has scored Chateau Living Center 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
