Chateau La Jolla is at the end of Prospect street , very quiet area. and yet close to downtown La Jolla, one shot block from the ocean , parallel with Coast Blvd . I moved in August 2023. [name removed] the marketing director was helpful and cheerful . She introduced me to other residents and helped with the move. The dining room uniform staff are very pleasant, they remember my name by the third day I was there , .the kitchen staff are flexible , instead of omelet with spinach, ham and cheese I want poached eggs and sautéed spinach and mush room, they will do that , no problem! There are variety of activities daily if you want to participate. [name removed] is excellent trainer for physical exercises . The residents are friendly helpful to newcomer.. I feel at home in a matter of days. To sum up with the people and the various activities available, and location, Chateau La Jolla is a very nice place to live.. “The Third Time is the Charm” says a dictionary. Is it? Read on please. Chateau La Jolla is my 3rd residence (i.e. retirement) community. Upon the passing of my beautiful wife [name removed] of 60 years, I sold our very lonely house and moved to the closest retirement community. Nice! I lived there for two (2) years until four (4) of my fabulous families wanted me to move closer to their homes. I did, to a very nice retirement community, but after two (2) years there I longed to move again, but this time near the Ocean. (Navy vet mostly subs). After seven (7) months here at Chateau La Jolla, I can say Yes, The Third Time is the Charm. I refer friends to Chateau’s very informative website and the reviews of others because so many of their questions are answered there about the Property, Renovation, Apartments, etc. Most of my friends’ questions to me are regarding Dining, Staff Personnel, Management, Housekeeping, Rental Increases, etc. Again: The Third Time is the Charm!
