Carefree Assisted Living

It wasn't until after [name removed] had been there a while that they were not providing the care they promised to provide. [name removed] lost a lot of weight hadn't eaten in 4 days and no one said anything, the food was terrible no at all as advertised, there were no exercises. [name removed] lost use of his legs and a lot of his arms. For the money my Vet would have done a better job. We had just made arrangements for [name removed] to move to another facility that they just let him go to hell in a hand basket. He had fallen out of his bed and was tied up in the sheet for over 30 minutes before someone walked by and noticed him. By the time they called the ambulance this last time there was no coming back from it. I brought [name removed] home because that was not a place I wanted him to die in. He passed away at our home on [date removed]

I would say it's a great facility to work with. They take care of you and even exceed expectations. Carefree assisted living was a great experience for my family and I. They really made us feel like family was taking care of my mom.

My 100 year old mother in law was placed on hospice right after Thanksgiving. She had been living with us up until then. She needed 24/7 care that I wasn't able to provide. We found this home thru A Place for Mom" and moved her there at the end of December. Although she only lived another two weeks, the care she received was nothing short of amazing. The whole staff [names removed] and all the caregivers were all very caring individuals. Even the hospice nurse who I am sure had seen her share of care facilities, told us this place was a quality place. Even more amazing was that our primary care physician's grandma has lived there for three years. If you are looking for a really good facility that is small (10 residents) and like home, this is the place.

We've been very happy with carefree assisted living so far. The staff is extremely friendly and kind and helpful. The house is always extremely clean. The staff is supportive and responsive to needs. We're very grateful to have used A Place For Mom to find this next stage of care for our loved one.

My mother suffered from Frontotemporal Dementia, behavioral variant. This nursing home can deal with dementia, but not the behavioral variant. So no, it didn't work out, but that doesn't mean they didn't do a good job with what they do. My mother just wasn't a good fit

This home is gorgeous. The staff is attentive and fun loving . I have a friend in this home , after staying at a few other facilities , they now found their forever home and love all the attention and activities, exercise . The area is breathtaking with all the trees. Open large home , updated throughout . I was very impressed .

They made us feel like family and were very accommodating and I don't see anywhere they can improve. It's a very well run facility.

A dear friend of ours was at Carefree Assisted Living for over two years. She was unable to walk and they made sure she was out in the living area every day so she could see what was going on and so that they could watch over her. She was able to look out onto the patio and see the beautiful view and there was always a large block of bird feed so we could watch the birds fly around. We visited twice each week and everyone was very friendly and attentive to the residents. The manager and caregivers were always open to any suggestions we had of things we wanted to do. Unfortunately, our friend passed away recently but I do not believe any other facility would have given her the care and love she received there. It is a beautiful home and spotlessly clean. I can’t imagine any place more welcoming or friendly than this. I would highly recommend it.

Our family toured a couple other communities and there was no comparison to Carefree - every single one of the staff members were wonderful. Carefree is very bright and open and based on our experience we would absolutely recommend this community to others. The meals and dining service was great and there were constant activities scheduled. The value for the money was excellent.

They are doing great as is. We picked this community because, it was close to my house, and we visited and liked the place.

After thoughtfully searching for home for my mom I found carefree Assisted living. I felt welcome as soon as I walked in. The owner was there to greet me and my mom. The staff was warm and welcoming. I could see daily activities going on from yoga to someone helping chop veggies to someone also getting her hair done. They have a salon and a gym along with individual rooms. I loved the space and feel of just being home. So did my mom. I’m so happy I found this place.

We recently relocated my mother to Carefree Assisted Living ( Doc's Place ) which is a beautiful group home in a quiet desert setting and would like to share our thoughts with anyone whose loved one needs assistance. They maintain a caring and understanding staff that is willing to work with individual residents and family needs to make sure your loved one receives the best of care. Meals are prepared that appeal to sight, taste and nutrition. Activities are planned to be enjoyed by each individual resident. It is obvious that the staff and Doc's Place truly care and that it is not just a job.

We started out at Docs Place in [date removed] for my father. Within a very short time of 2 months the owner decided to start cutting corners. A competent, experienced house manager was let go at Christmas. This lack of transparency lead to distrust. The owner is a person with no previous experience in elder care. His career before this purchase was construction. My father did not receive the peer socialization, mental activity, physical activity, nor therapeutic exercises that dementia residents desperately require. The home was too sedentary, sluggish and inactive for my father. The staffed care is kind and loving and they do their best caring for the residents. However, they are understaffed, unappreciated, and inadequately compensated by the owner. There is a revolving door of help. They are used and let go over and over. This is a poorly managed home. Please do your research before you make this important decision. This place is also known as Carefree Assisted Living-Phoenix.

This gorgeous home is a hidden gem by the mountains in North Phoenix. My grandmother started living there earlier in 2020, right as the COVID crisis started. I've been so grateful to know that she is well cared for, safe and not alone during this difficult time. She has a nice group of friends and loves her carers. She doesn't have to worry about getting her groceries or managing her meds, which would be a relief at any time but right now this keeps her safer than ever. I've been able to visit her too, they have onsite COVID testing and their protocols are super safe and strict, I feel really good about everything. [name removed] is also her PCP, so it's just a great deal all around; she gets to see him every week when he checks in with the residents. Love this place and highly recommend it! Also, it's a beautiful, luxurious home which is just a lovely way for my Grandma to spend her twilight time - she deserves it.

My family and I brought our dad to Doc's Place in [date removed]. He was near death after we removed him from another Assisted Living home in town. We weren't sure how many hours or days dad would be with us. The team at Doc's Place never saw my dad as near death. They saw him as a treasured patient. They prepared special meals for him, carefully bathed him, joked with him, and nursed him to a point where he joined his housemates at dinner and on the beautiful patio where he shared stories of "the good old days", WWII and bragged about his kids, grandkids. He was treated with tenderness, individual attention, and DIGNITY. Dad spent his last 3 months of life in the safe, friendly, and comfortable environment of Doc's Place. My heart is completely at peace with my dad's last days. The staff treated my dad as if he was their own family. They were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I highly recommend Doc's Place to anyone looking for a perfect place for a loved one.
