I toured this community. It was a more quiet atmosphere, which can be great if that's what you're looking for. We were looking for a more energetic atmosphere for our loved one. It's quite clean and the staff seemed friendly.
We picked this community because, of the location, care services, and we were promised activities that were not real. It's fine - constrained by resources of course. People are nice. I wouldn't warn anyone away from another Atria property. It was bought and converted to non assisted living apartments.

I toured this community looking for a place for my mom. The staff was welcoming and inviting from the moment I walked in. Every staff member we encountered along they way was friendly. Although the community is older it has a warm feeling of home that made me know my mom would be safe there.

The staff members are very friendly and the care services are good. Our loved one is a vegetarian so the meals sometimes are not to her liking, and sometimes the portion sixes are to big. The activities they offer are so far so good and the value for cost is fine.

I am the daughter of a happy couple who moved into Atria of Buckhead in July of 2019. My parents, who have been married for 63 amazing years, felt it was time to be around people their own ages, and they realized they were in need of more services than I could offer them while they were living with me. The administration and staff helped both my parents and me make the transition to assisted living with ease. My parents connected with other residents immediately and the great activities AND excellent dining helped them to do that. We have found everyone at the facility to be loving and caring, and they operate as if we are all family. We looked at many other senior living options before closing Atria, and we are VERY happy with our choice.

My parents have lived at Atria Buckhead since September 2019, and both they and I have been extremely happy with their transition there as well as their experience. They consistently speak very highly of their apartment, the staff, other residents, and the food. And the happy hours! Pre-COVID, the array of activities available and amount of interaction they had with others was fantastic - so much more than they were getting at home. I have been incredibly impressed as well with Atria Buckhead's response to COVID. They are putting resident and staff safety as top priority, communicating regularly and openly with families, and have figured out a number of creative ways to keep residents happy and families in touch, including holding zoom calls and terrace visits. Staff, including the director, are easy to get a hold of, and always willing to troubleshoot with me when needed. I honestly couldn't be happier, especially seeing that my parents are happy there.

Beautiful building and grounds. Higher price than the other places we toured, but you certainly get what you pay for as far as the lovely facility and the attentive and caring staff.

Response from Buckhead Flats
April 11, 2019Thank you for touring our community at Atria Buckhead. It is our pleasure to serve our residents and their families each and every day!
Attia Buckhead is licensed as personal care facility and staffed barebones for that licensure. This is, however, contrary to their marketing. I asked about their licensure upfront, but the salesperson and staff were not forthcoming until my mother moved in. Then the resident service director told me that I would need to hire private duty caregivers from 8:30am to 10pm. The second month mom was there, the med tech who doubles as the resident assistant for the 2nd floor told mama that she had to go to the bathroom too often at night and took her glass of water from her bedside. Mother was intimidated by the staff and became reluctant to ask for assistance. When I asked the medication tech/resident assistant about taking mama’s water glass from her bedside, she stormed out of thr room dismissing my concern. I later received a phone call from the executive director demanding that I leave the facility. Mom was concerned about retaliation. The med tech told me to “Take her too!” I moved mother out at 10pm to days before Thanksgiving. Atria Buckhead misrepresents itself and it’s services; allows their staff to work multiple back to back double shifts, cultivates a gossiping environment and they mistreat residents. This was an unfortunate experience for my 87 year old mother. I reached out to the corporate office but never received a follow up call. They are still sending me a monthly bill.

Response from Buckhead Flats
March 11, 2019Mattie, Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. We take your feedback seriously at Atria Buckhead. I understand that you have been in communication with our team. If you'd like to personally speak further, please don't hesitate to contact us at [removed].
This is a lovely facility. The residential services director and the sales director are knowledgeable and passionate. It is more independent living than assisted; consequently, I had to hire private caregivers for 8.5 hours 7 days a week (additional $900 per week) to help my 87 year old mother with personal hygiene and daily living activities. The facility seems to have 1 aid per floor to help residents, and they seem to work double shifts too often. Overworked assistants are not always nice nor provide the best care. Presently, Atria staff is supposed to check and assist mother overnight and deliver her breakfast tray in the morning since the private sitter arrives at 10. We have experienced constant miscommunications with management and Atria staff, activities are often cancelled, don’t know who or when trash pick-up is and the AC hasn’t worked and has been “being repaired” since move-in. I just got a mailbox key, Nov. 9 although we moved in September 8. I’m still unclear on mother’s medication management. Atria Buckhead is very close to where I live which is good since I have to go over so often. Overall, my mother needs more assistance than Atria can provide. If your loved one is more independent, this is a nice 1st step from their home.

The community is within walking distance from where I live. It is very well maintained and residents appeared happy. The sales director and nursing director were extremely hospitable. personable. Rooms were nicely decorated and it has a lovely garden. I especially appreciated sales director, [name removed]'s phone call to my Mother.

I really was impressed on how friendly the director was at this community, she was very knowledgeable and provided my mother and I with lots of great information during our tour. They had a great activity program as well as a restaurant style menu available at meal times for all of the residents. The overall facility had a really great feeling to and I felt right at home.

They staff was ready for our appointed tour. I was getting useful information that I needed. When I saw the apartment available we thought it was not a good size and needed something larger. This was the reason for not choosing.

Atria Buckhead is just a delight. A small family feel and welcoming atmosphere. The food is wonderful, and the building is lovely. Very friendly staff. We were very impressed with the quality of what is being offered. It's just a little far from family and our usual familiar community. Darby is fantastic and obviously loves her job. Her enthusiasm is contagious!

Our experiences have been good and bad. My mother started out in the AL side of the community, but after leaving the building a couple of times, she has now been moved to the memory care side of the facility. We are trying to work through all of this and help her adjust to everything. This is really a great community and they are doing their best to care for her. There are nice activities for her when she is ready to participate. The food is decent, but I think the food down stairs is better. I wish they would had done a better assessment of her, so we didn't have to move her.
