We did not like Brookdale. Not a very caring home. They were all about profit and just don't care. They left her in a cold corner room. No heat, not much contact with other residents. She needed something for a stomach ache. We (I was with her) waited over two hours and no one ever came by. Not even with ginger ale she'd had before.

The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. It was recommended. They need more staff, especially at night.

They were way over priced for the quality of care they could provide. Brookdale Wooster community shouldn't take on more clients then they have staff for. And they should treat their employees with more respect and have better overall communication.

September 19, 2023We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care and we will share your feedback with our management team.
The community would have been a good choice. The final decision hinged on the fact of my loved one had lived their whole life in the Millersburg area and they wanted to be closer to that area.
Don't go there. It's pretty, and they give a good speech but are not doing what they should to help Mom and they over charge. Charges for every little thing. It's your job; just do it.

April 28, 2023Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
I would tell others to keep looking. He was in memory care and they have people wandering around, one guy was violent and he was pestering everyone and everyone was complaining they just let him go. There were not enough staff to handle the residents and they had to end up hiring agency staff. When my loved one cleared up I asked if we could move him over to assisted living and they would not let him move over. Visitors are not allowed in the dining room and he stopped eating because he said meal times were chaos. I told them from day 1 I was getting the medications and they kept sending me bills for his medications. I never was able to get that money back. If there were any complains, no one ever listened. Overall it was not a good experience at all. I think they need a 3rd stage building, one for those who are in the beginning stages and one for those who are far gone. Residents care is not being scored correctly.

The staff is really good about working with people. They are very client oriented. The cost is expensive. The dining area is really nice. I think that the care services could be improved, but they are short handed. It makes things more difficult. I think they are doing the best that they can. The place is very clean.

The staff really care about the residents. They take extra time to get to know them and make them feel comfortable. They go out of of their way to make sure people feel like they're part of a community rather than just an assisted living facility. Overall the staff has been great. There were a couple of instances where the staff was short with a family member, but I think that had more to do with Covid and making sure everybody is following all the rules. I don't know if this is related to Covid, but they were so helpful getting everything moved in. They had it already set up like it was her apartment, with the furniture already arranged and her clothes put away. This was a tough transition for my loved one and she was on the fence about her decision, but she came in and saw all of her things already unpacked and set up and felt so much better. That was huge for us, and we were so grateful for that service. It's very home-like. They take care of the place like it's their home. They come in and do housekeeping for my loved one, and it's always been great every time I've visited. Coming in and walking through the entryways and the hallways, everything is very homelike and clean. My loved one says the food is very good. It tastes good, and they're willing to work with whatever her interests and likes are. They also offer a good variety.

It's tough to give feedback during this time, but it seems like a good place. We feel comfortable having her there, and she seems safe there.

The attention of the staff, the cleanliness, and the family-like atmosphere made it much easier for my father to adjust. The layout was great and the room sizes were good. My dad really liked the food and he is picky. They had outdoor space for the residents to use. They offered to let my dad put up a bird feeder and they would fill it, which is thought was very kind.

The staff is very caring. They are understaffed. My parents did not care for the food. The room sizes were nice. They have and secured outdoor area where they did activities. We used Brookdale hospice at the end and we were pleased with them.

For the price I might as well put her in Apostolic Home and donate her money to them since she is an Apostolic. But [name removed] never called me back.

Very dissatisfied with the way certain things are being handled by Corporate Brookdale. Firstly, my dad resided at Brookdale Wooster. Brookdale was being paid monthly to provide room and board, and nursing care. Corporate Brookdale called me one Sunday afternoon to notify me that my dad needed to receive home health care. "Why," I asked. The nurse replied, "staff and my dad would receive additional education on his medical issues and other personal care." They also felt he needed Brookdale home health physical therapy services. "Why," I asked again. The nurse stated, "he uses a walker, and it would improve his safety." My son is a physical therapist, so I asked him to assess my dad. My son felt that my dad would not benefit from any additional physical therapy services. I felt ( I am an RN) that the home health nursing services would not benefit my dad either. The Corporate Brookdale kept reassuring me that it would not cost my dad a dime to receive these services because the home health charges would have been filed towards his health insurance. Filing unecessary medical charges is considered INSURANCE FRAUD. Corporate Brookdale kept calling me and mailing me forms to initiate these home health services, even though I told them we did not want them. Secondly, I gave 30-day notice to move my dad from Brookdale. His monthly charges is paid via autopay. I gave plenty of notice to cancel the autopay, as dad was moving out the 7th of the month. The administrator said she would cancel the autopay, so I would pay the amount owed by check. Guess what, Brookdale went ahead and withdrew the total monthly amount. I notified the administrator a week ago. We have received this month's bill showing a credit balance, but my dad still has not receive the money back. This is unacceptable. We liked the staff at Wooster Brookdale, but Corporate Brookdale has questionable actions.

Does not seem to have enough staff to meet needs of residents. Sometimes difficult to find someone. Staff does seem to care about residents.

The facility is dirty. The senior cries all the time and expresses her dislike of the facility. They do not engage with the senior. The caregivers are nice but do not respond timely. The executive is rude and judgmental.

My dad was here for a 3 week respite until an availability was open for a different community. From my RN perspective, i liked this community. The staff were attentive and the facility is very nice and almost new. It felt like a good fit for him because it was a farmer community and he had people he could relate to and he made some friends while there. I was satisfied with his care for his respite.
