Brookdale Willows Sherman

I would recommend Brookdale. It's a quiet and friendly community suited well for my family member. We picked this community because of the cleanliness, care services & staff.

This memory care facility loses great staff due to pay. Most go to [facility name removed] in Sherman, Tx. who pays more. My mother has had multiple falls but since having Hospice her care is much better. This memory care facility is not understaffed on mornings and evenings like Brookdale.

Brookdale is a small community. The dining experience is wonderful. The food is good and if you're sick, they'll bring food to your room with no problem. They make sure that you get food whenever you want it. The nurses are knowledgeable and helpful. They will administer medicines for your loved ones. The activities are appropriate for the age groups, but I felt like there needed to be more of a variety of types of activities. They do have outings once or twice a week, which is really nice, If you need a ride to the doctor, they'll provide one for you. The staff is as friendly as can be and if there is a problem with the staff they will try to fix it.

Things to know about respite at Brookdale- 1. They don't have a dedicated respite room, so you have to furnish the room. 2. Minimum reservation is 30 days. So we paid for a month for a 10 day stay. We would consider Brookdale for a permanent stay.

Staff are friendly, tentative and compassionate. Unfortunately, turnover seems high. They could improve by providing increased variety of activities and better communication of what is available/planned.

The meals are very good. Staff are caring and work together. The only negative is that the price is too high, in my opinion, and appears to have a yearly increase. We highly recommend Brookdale Willows Sherman to others.

The staff is over the top friendly. I've had no problems at all with the staff. They will try to do everything they can for you. With their evaluation of my loved one, they helped her get on some medication that she needed. The rooms have great closet space. But their housekeeping is VERY light. And the activities I don't feel are age appropriate. They need more variety of activities and just more activities in general. She really likes going on outings, which they don't do a lot of. Sometimes they say they're going to come do this or that, and they don't. I'm sure that has to do with how busy they are. But I do like that it's a smaller community. And they work well with the families. They will try to accommodate you as much as possible.

They do have an exercise program called Fitbit and they do bingo, but I think they could provide more for the residents to do. The food was not as presented, they do a lot of sandwiches from what I have seen and the lunch is the main meal. The staff are all very friendly and helpful so that has been great. I do think communication could be improved on with the families especially with the medications, we have to follow up on a lot of things to get them done. I do know they are going through some staffing changes and they are getting a new director. They do have a new gal doing housekeeping and she is doing a better job than the last person. It is expensive and all of the things that they promised are not always being followed through with. It is definitely better than some places I saw and they are really trying, they just could some improvements.

This is originally where I wanted to place my mom, but we moved her to a different facility instead. And it turns out that my initial gut feeling about Brookdale, where we have since moved her, was correct. They are very attentive and very in tune with her needs. The only reason I didn't give them five stars on everything is they've had some staffing issues recently, which everybody has. But I would highly recommend it over any of the other facilities I toured in the area, and I went to almost all of them. The facility is immaculate. They're always decorating for events and holidays. The whole facility is spotless. And they have just gone above and beyond in accommodating for my loved one's needs.

Brookdale Willows has been great, the staff are very knowledgeable especially with things regarding our loved one. Our loved one is actually eating so we have to assume the meals are very good. The activities are opening back up now that everyone is getting vaccinated and we do think the value for cost is awesome.

i like this community because it is small enough to get the individualized attention that they need. The staff are very patient with the residents. The staff seem well trained to handle the residents in memory care. We chose this community because it looks more homey, he has his own apartment, and there is lots of storage They send us a long process report every month to include his care, eating, and hygiene. The staff are very helpful supporting my dad to call or facetime our family. I would definitely recommend this community to other families.

We looked every where before deciding on Brookdale. The people at Brookdale are fantastic. They helped us in every step of a difficult process. Our parents receive the best care from the most loving people imaginable - they have become family. The facility is wonderful, the food is excellent and there's so much to do - We made the best decision in choosing this wonderful place!

While looking into various options, I decided to move forward with this community. Everything seems to be going well, no complaints so far. Their staff is really available, whether it is the caregivers or the regular staff, everyone is willing to jump right in to assist with any issues. When I first toured the community I noticed that they had a little welcome sign and their team just seemed to go the extra mile. [Removed]showed me the facility and had answers to any questions that I had, the nurse ([Removed]), and the activities directors have just been really good. My only feedback, if any, would be this: They were not flexible with the signup fee. Most places that you visit for the first time typically have a willingness to bring it down. Here there was no negotiating however they did say if you went to another Brookdale that fee would transfer over. Overall, this is still a great community for my loved one.

My parents have moved into Brookdale Willows Sherman community. Overall, the experience has been quite positive. The staff has been exceptionally kind and helpful this entire time, and they are always ready to help my parents or myself when we need assistance or have questions. There are activities in the community for the residents to take part in. However, my parents are still settling in, so they haven’t involved themselves very much yet. Our only principal complaint so far is with the food. Meals taste good and are nutritious; however, the portions sizes are consistently too small at all meal times. It is almost as if they do not have enough resources for all the residents. However, my mother commented that things have been improving lately. Despite this one issue, we would still recommend Brookdale to others.

I have no complaints about how things had went for my loved one and I during our tour that we had taken of this community. I thought the staff did a great job with the presentation and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked the open floor they had as well as other amenities for all of the residents. It was just not the right location in the end decision.

Everything is going well for both of my parents. They are in a 2 bedroom apartment which is the main reason we picked this community. The staff are taking great care with them. They have a lot of activities and my mom participates in the afternoon socialization. The community tries to accommodate all the meals. If a meal is something they don't like they can get substitutions. This is a nice looking community too.

This is a great community for care for a loved one. The staff is very caring and attentive to his needs. We like that the community is clean and maintained. They keep me update on his progress and set back. We like the variety of the meals that are offered. I like knowing that he is involved with the activities with the other residents.We would recommend this community for the care of a love one for a good value.

I had a tour of this community and really did not care for it at all. The staff where friendly but the atmosphere was really depressing and dim. I just did not feel good about our visit and would not recommend it to anyone.

I had a good tour of Brookdale Willows Sherman. The facility was clean and maintained well. The lady that took me around was friendly and able to answer all of my questions. It was a good experience to tour.
