Brookdale Watauga

The room is not always cleaned regularly and when it comes to the meals the food is not too good sometimes. The extra care added charges are pretty expensive. However, I would recommend this community to other families based on my experience so far.

Brookdale Watauga is a small, personable community. Everyone knows everyone there and we really like that. I would recommend this facility to those looking for assisted living.

I am a physical therapist and have been seeing residents in this facility for over 2 years. Every time I enter the facility I am greeted by a warm smile and a genuine “how are you.” This Love and respect is demonstrated to the residents, their families and to each other as co-workers, just like family. I highly recommend this facility for a loved one in need of care, acceptance, love and respect.

When looking for a Senior living facility, with a home like atmosphere, for your love one. Consider Brookdale in Watauga. Single floor, with a small community and all the amenities. You will not find a better professional staff and caregivers. You will have the peace of mind knowing your love one will be watch over and cared for, as if they were home under your care. [name removed], the Executive Director is a outstanding person, doing a exceptional job. Very knowledgeable about all the aspects of Brookdale in Watauga. She takes a special interest in all residents. [name removed] the Resident Program Coordinator is Very dedicated, talks and listens to all the residents. Scheduling different actives & participates which makes it more interesting for the residents. [name removed] the Sales Manager has strong communication skills and takes special interest to know your love ones needs. Extremely helpful conducting tours and explains the Brookdale standards to prospective members.

It was a hard decision to move my mother to assisted living. Brookdale Watauga was absolutely wonderful from my first phone call, throughout the onboarding and move in process. I find the staff extremely caring, attentive and truly care about the residents and the families. My mother has adjusted, loves her space and environment. Regardless of when I visit, the community is always clean and welcoming.

Brookdale has been a good chose for my Dad. He has been a resident for one year and I don’t have any complaints. Staff is very helpful and care about the residents.

I have worked alongside Brookdale for the care of my mil. I strongly suggest that if you have a loved one in a care facility that you take a tour and meet the staff of this facility. We have been in several and finally ended up here because we wanted to move her closer to us. The staff is experienced and they provide dignity, support and significant care for all their patients. They have worked with our family in person, by phone or text. I get notified immediately if anything occurs -whether it seems important or not. (When you are the family in this situation,-it is always important.) It truly shows how much they value their residents by the way their care is met on a daily basis. Walking them to the dining room, swinging in just to say hello with a friendly smile and the way everyone knows you by name. Nursing is on top of the residents PT/OT- this is quite a relief to the family. They have physicians, X-ray and orthopedic come to facility. Huge thumbs up!

I was very impressed with Brookdale Watauga when I drove past it the first time. The facility was very well kept and when I went inside I was surprised at the cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff. I would recommend this to anyone.

Mom moved to Brookdale, Watauga in Aug 2023. The first few months we were very happy, especially with the staff. In the last month there has been a major change of staff, and we are very disappointed and have some real concerns. The new Director is rarely seen, closed up in her office with door closed. The new nurse seems completely uninterested in her job, and is rarely seen as well. My mother’s meds have been given at wrong times, as well as medical items lost, or misplaced. This is HIGHLY concerning. The food as been another issue. Sometimes my mother complains it is barely edible. There seems to be an over abundance of carrots, cauliflower, noodles, and boiled cabbage. The activities director, [name removed], sales manager, [name removed] are rays of sunshine, but honestly we are not particularly happy with much else.

My husband has been a resident at Brookdale Watauga for almost 5 years. He has declined significantly during this time. We, his family, have been very pleased with the care, the caring, and the facility during most of this time. During the Big Freeze a couple of years ago, the pipes burst, and there was no power for a while, but the staff handled the crisis very well, and the residents were well cared for. Likewise, during COVID, they were able to keep the virus at bay for many months, and only had to quarantine for a short time. And, again, the staff worked very hard to make sure the needs of the residents were met in a caring way. Now that almost normal is back, Brookdale Watauga continues to provide loving, helpful care and personal assistance as needed. We would not hesitate to recommend this facility to families who are looking for a smaller, friendly place for their loved one.

Brookdale Watauga is outstanding. The staff from top to bottom are caring and engaging. Meals are tasty. My dad goes to visit, and we will use them in the future. When you need to know your loved one is taken care of the way you would, Brookdale Watauga delivers.

My older brother has been a resident for 2 plus years. This is his second assisted living experience and it far exceeds a former residence. The staff is professional, friendly and accommodating to my brother's needs. The Executive Director, and the Health and Wellness Director along with other staff go beyond expectations in dealing with specific issues and offer alternative approaches to the many issues and problems that arise. My brother, the resident, also speaks highly of the staff.

This is an awesome community, they were very nice and kind to my loved one. He needed a lot of help and they were very patient with him. They did an amazing job in my mind. He is better and home now and things are going well. The tour was great and I got all of the information that I needed about the community. The tour guide was nice and so are all of the other staff. My loved one can be a handful and they were great with him.

The staff is very friendly and efficient. I really like the community. The food is good and they really keep the community neat and very clean. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

This property, although one story, was aged and in a location that would not appeal to my mom (across from a water treatment plant and water tower). The units were not priced competitively even with a college alumni discount.

The community is small and homey feeling. Communication is good between the staff and our family. They keep us well informed and up to date. I would recommend this community to others based on my experence
