Located at the base of the gorgeous Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, you will find Brookdale Tanque Verde — a single-story memory care community. Here, you'll be surrounded by compassionate caregivers, a variety of on-site amenities, and person-centered care services each day. In addition to promoting safety, Brookdale Tanque Verde offers two memory care programs — Clare Bridge and Solace. The Clare Bridge program is an exclusive brand of dementia care that was established more than 30 years ago. It provides residents with six planned activities each day to promote the use of their current skills and abilities. The Solace program provides additional support to residents in the late stages of dementia by offering assistance with grooming and providing additional time for music and aromatherapy activities. If needed, residents can receive assistance with medication management, bathing, dressing, eating, and...

We have been at 2 different Brookdales. My parents got worse and went to a memory care. The staff takes very good care of my parents, they eat well and are happy. My mother passed and they were loving and supportive.

Brookdale Tanque Verde staff have been great. They helped me plan my mom's moving in experience. There was an issue and some miscommunication about 2.5 wells after my mom moved in but it was between a couple of third parties. There are a lot of activities and my mom has participated in many of them - I've even participated with her. I'm very happy with the care she receives.

I would recommend to others. I picked this community because of the ambiance, small size, and it's 7 minutes from my home. I am frustrated with the high staff turnover.

My loved one was there a short period of time. They had some activites. Someome from A Place for Mom recommended the place. It would have been, a better fit if they actually provided a medical assetment and would have been more honest, that they don't deal with behavorial issues. They need to be honest about what kinds of behavior can be dealt with there. I am frustrated that they advertised somethng that they could not handle.

Response from Brookdale Tanque Verde
December 20, 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
My tour at Brookdale Tanque Verde was exceptional. The sales person, [name removed] was exceptional. I got the feeling that the staff has true knowledge of the residents. There were probably over 30 residents, and the staff knows who they are and where they are at any given time.
Brookdale is a great place. I made the decision to place my loved one here - which should tell you all that you need to know.

This is a good place. The staff care for the residents. The food consists of a lot of pastas and small salads. They don't serve a lot of food that I find appealing. For the most part there is one menu option available for the residents. They don't provide physical therapy for the residents.

The management and staff are very competent in caring for my father. They are extremely responsive and quick to address any questions or concerns that I have had during the process of transitioning my dad into memory care. In particular, during the COVID-19 crisis, the Brookdale Tanque Verde team has gone above and beyond the call of duty by not only following the mandated guidelines, implementing the necessary precautions, but also by thinking out of the box and helping family members to feel more included while we are unable to visit our loved ones. Every time I talk to [names removed] I feel more and more at ease and confident that my dad is in the right facility and that he is being well cared for. I am beyond grateful to everyone, team members I have met and not yet met, for being front line essential workers with patience of saints and hearts of gold. <3<3<3

The management and staff are very competent in caring for my mother. They are quick and eager to address any concerns that I have had and if some special need for my mother comes up, quick to call me. I visit often and leaving knowing she is being well cared for.

We visit our mother often. She is always well groomed. Wellness director [name removed] is excellent and always keeps us updated on any changes no matter how minor and connects personally with residents. Med techs and housekeepers are always helpful, chef [name removed] prepares healthy fresh meals too. Our mother struggled at several facilities before arriving at Brookdale TV. The staff is excellent at handling temperamental dementia.

If I could I would rate this place a 6. It’s wonderful, it’s clean, and very nice. The residents there have a call button, of course, and everybody that comes to assist are just pleasant, sweet, and they go out of their way to help and be kind. Everyone on the staff team is all sweet and they have both men and women. My love one feels very safe here. The facility itself is secured and you would have to be let in and out by ringing a doorbell and having someone do that for you. The location also adds to the convenience for visiting as well.

We enjoyed our tour here and we did think that my mother-in-law would do fine here. The staff did a very nice job with our tour, the grounds are nice and there are a lot of amenities for the residents to choose from. It would be worth a tour.

My parents spent approximately 12 mths at this facility. We decided to move both out after my mom developed a bed sore that was diagnosed as Grade 4 (down to the bone). This bed sore was only caught after family insisted we get a new medical provider as we didn't feel they were receiving adequate care. The new provider found bed sore on her first visit and was appalled at how bad the sore was.........bed sores start out at Grade 1, then 2, then 3 and Mom was at a Grade 4. We also found out Mom was being over-medicated while at this facility.......she was noted by family member and a staff member to not be able to hold her head up (originally thought to be due to pain). Ironically, after leaving this facility, she had no issues with keeping her head up. I even discussed this with her medical provider and this was her best guess how to explain this. Very sad! Please do not allow your loved ones to be a part of this mess.

My friend is doing good here. There was an issue where they let someone in to draw blood from her. They didn't chart the visitor and let them come in while she was still sleeping. They also let her go to lunch with a family member and no one called me to let me know. I was her guardian and that was not okay.

The Brookdale Tanque Verde was a very nice place to tour. The place was clean and the people were friendly, but we had already chosen to go with another Brookdale.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Tanque Verde 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
