The activity director is superb, they do exercises, trivia activities, crafts and special parties. It feels like home, great food and my mom is making friends and enjoying her time there.... It is better now but they have had so much turnover in their staff. Multiple directors and Staff. But it seems to be that way everywhere now. I think in general they get as good as care there as possible these days. I have discussed it with the hospice nurse and she feels the same way.

Reasons we chose Brookdale Sun Prairie: it is a small group setting, ratio of caregivers to residents and dedicated to only Alzheimer's and dementia patients. I especially want to call out [name removed], she along with the staff treated my dad like his was their family.

We chose Brookdale Sun Prairie because it is a smaller facility, the location is close to my home, and staff were very friendly. I would tell others looking just to make sure to ask lots of questions!

Choosing a memory care facility for a loved one is one of the most important decisions you can make. Allow me to share some things that could possibly happen at Brookdale: -Your loved one may be left in the care of rude, belligerent, teenage-like staff who refuse to put down their phones. -You may have to ask multiple times, every time, for rooms/bathrooms to be cleaned and laundry to be done. -You might get so tired of the pile of laundry that you finally just bring it home and do it yourself. -Prescription meds might be administered regularly, or they might not be administered at all. -At some point, your loved one might fall in one of the common areas, breaking an arm and suffering a nasty bump on the head. When you ask what happened, nobody knows how it happened, or even when it happened because nobody had been paying attention. -Bottom line, if you care at all about your loved one, Brookdale-Sun Prairie is the last place you should entrust with their care.

Response from Brookdale Sun Prairie
February 16, 2024We take these comments very seriously and want you to know that your concerns have been shared with our corporate management team for further review.
We placed my mom at Brookdale in April of 2022. All went well until the Executive Director and RN both quit in July of that year. From that point forward there were numerous problems: frequent "interim" management filling in; and the RN wasn't filled until January of 2023. My mom's room was often very dirty, her dietary guidelines (diabetic) and certain meds were not being followed consistently, extremely poor communication due to the high turnover in management, missing laundry and linens for which reimbursement was never made to us despite being promised. In April 2023 We ultimately moved my mom to another memory care facility 15 minutes away, and she is now doing great and happier with much better care and cleanliness. I'd give Brookdale a one star rating except for the Activity Director, who was very good at her job. Thus the 2-star rating.

Our family had an in person tour and the people were so friendly, but for the amount of people there we felt there was just not enough space at all. However every where you went in the community it was very clean
My brother moved to Brookdale in February. The staff has been amazing to work with. The administration as well as the primary caregivers are more than kind. There are always people smiling and encouraging residents when I visit. The food is yummy and staff to resident ratio is more than adequate. My brother has a very large, friendly dog. [name removed] is encouraged to visit as often as possible. Thank you, Brookdale, for being there when we needed to proceed to the next level of care.

My sister did the initial footwork of finding the best residential facility for our brother, and we agreed that Brookdale Sun Prairie, WI a great choice. Brookdale is a smaller 15 bed facility that we immediately felt comfortable with. From the business person, to the nurse, the executive director, and the entire staff are a compliment to each other and always patient and family focused. Brookdale says that they look at their residents as family, and I would have to say that I couldn’t agree more. From creative delicious food to the amazing recreation director a personalized inclusive approach is always part of the decision making process. I would encourage anyone facing the difficult task of looking at care facilities for their loved one, to give Brookdale Sun Prairie, WI, your first look. There really is loving professional care at all levels.

We chose Brookdale Sun Prairie because a lot of their staff has been there a long time which said a lot to me, especially since the last facility we were at had a lot of turnover. The room sizes here are on the smaller side, the room that we have for our loved one is private. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

I had written a good review in summer 2020 and it no longer applies. There is a new director and many new care staff and the care just isn't as good as it was then. I hope things get better again, but unless it does I can't recommend Brookdale Sun Prairie.

I love Brookdale! We wanted to move my mother-in-law closer to us, so [name removed] helped us to make the arrangements between the other nursing home and this memory care. We planned to have the necessary extra helpers, we needed during Covid due to quarantine, and the transfer went very smooth. My mother-in-law's never been happier. I love that it's a smaller place and they show great care and attention. I love that my mother-in-law has her own room. I love that they have a community room, where she can do things together as a group. Staff helpers are really attentive, helpful and Loving. They all do a great job. It's a very caring and loving environment.

Mom has late age Alzheimer's and this is an excellent facility for her care. Low number of patients (20 maximum), great personnel trained in Dementia/Alzheimer care and therapeutic instruction, very good meals, and a very caring staff made the transition for mom as easy as possible in a very trying time in her life moving from her own home to assisted living.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Sun Prairie 7.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
