Brookdale River Road

Staff was great, food was an issue at times. Mom was on a special diet due to her diverticulitis. Some how when we ordered she got what was left over in the kitchen. She was bedridden, and could not go to dining room. For most part she got good care.

I cannot say enough good about Brookdale and the positive setting they offer! They were super friendly and welcoming. Answered questions I didn't even know I had! The intake process was so much easier than we expected. They made everything easy and pleasant! I also really appreciated how clear and transparent they were about their pricing and fees for care. My loved one was very excited to hear about how life at Brookdale is directed by the residents rather than corporate programming. She loved hearing that they could request menu changes and choose outings. She was hesitant to leave her home and transition to assisted living but after her first visit to Brookdale, she was excited to move and turn over some of the daily tasks to someone else. She has not looked back! She is happy, loves her apartment, new friends and says the food is great!! Thank you Brookdale for making this such a positive transition for us!??

5s across the board. We have been very happy with the care mom is receiving. The wait times have been good and mom is enjoying the activities. The staff has been great to work with. They have made her feel very welcomed.

Staff has been great with dad. They call him [name removed]. They're friendly and act happy to take care of him. They're fast to come when he calls. The few times he was hurt or fell they always call me to either let me know he's ok or if the called an ambulance. Um there 5x a week and they're always happy to see me and give me updates when needed. After a few months the manager said the cats or one cat would need to go because she smells cat pee. I invited her in to show her how clean the box is kept and doesn't smell. She agreed it didn't smell in his room at all. She allowed both cats to stay. All is well.

I would rate a 5. Did not participate in activities as she was nearing the end of her life. A Place for Mom, Brookdale, and Serenity Hospice all get my highest rating and recommendation. Moving mom to Salem allowed me to spend more time with her at the end instead of her being two hours away in Roseburg. Thank you all so very much.

My family and I are so happy with my care here at Brookdale River Road. We wouldn't even consider any other place.

Everyone at Brookdale River Road, including residents, is friendly. The employees are great and are very helpful and will bend over backwards to help. They have actually called to help and we were able to come up with a solution.

The everyday staff were excellent and very compassionate. The management staff I did have some issues with in the beginning. We had issues with the kitchen every day. My mom could only eat certain meals and they would bring her whatever was leftover in the kitchen and something totally different than what was ordered. Our family stayed with her 24 hours a day to make sure she was getting the care and medications that she needed. It was very frustrating. They have tons of activities provided, I wish she would have been able to partake. I think it would be a great place if you are able to take part in all that they have to offer. Just make sure to advocate for your loved ones.

They are nice and caring about the residents. I would recommend that others check Brookdale River Road out.

I have a loved one at River Road. This community stands out from the other communities I have seen over the years. Excellent care, fun and engaging activities, and the staff truly care about the residents. I am thoroughly impressed by Brookdale River Road and would recommend them to everyone.
