Brookdale Pointe West

My only issue is that the respite care has to be 2 weeks minimum and most of my needs are for one week respite. However, we would recommend Brookdale Pointe West to other families, they were all amazing professionals!

Love the small size, staff is responsive in a timely way mom seems to like the food.Honestly we had to make a quick decision and lucked out. We really like the small size.

Level of care and service is outstanding. This is the best place for mom.

Very pleased with Dad's care! Treated so very well and he loves everyone there! We love you all!

Overall, my mother's care is very good. The people here are very responsive and helpful. The management team is caring and pitches in. It seems like they have high standards and expectations. There are 2 caregivers my mom had had that are excellent. Sometimes we get non regular and that is when the quality slips a lot. Note: Overall and Care Services would have been a 5 but the only people I interact with a lot is the aides. The regular 2 aides are 5, but not the fill in.

Overall I am very happy with the community and staff. My wife loves it here.

Yes they have trees but that’s about it. They make patients conform to their needs and treat humans like cattle. The staff has their heads in their phones and let people lay in feces..the staff are wolves in sheeps……

The lady, calling me to set up my tour was very professional and sweet. Once I got to the facility, I was greeted by [name removed] and she took me into the library to sit and learn about my grandma before we start of the tour. The place looked very homey and nice. I love that it is a small facility. The inside courtyard has a beautiful setting and I know my grandma would love that. She showed me all around and answered all the questions that I had as we were going. All the rooms are very nicely done in size and all rooms have a view. she introduced me to everybody that we passed by and they all seem very friendly and happy to be there. I will be moving my grandma in there within the next few months when I bring her down to Florida. If you’re looking for a small community with happy people and friendly people working this is the place that you should tour.

[name removed] is an enthusiastic liaison with awesome customer service skills. The RN was kind and personable, very helpful in arranging my husband's respite care stay .

I believe my father was ignored after more than one serious fall in this place that led to extreme pain & suffering until his death. Yes, my dad was difficult. It was obvious to me the staff disliked him. I overheard one make fun of him, which I called her on. Uncaring. Unprofessional. A staff member admitted to my sister as she went to pick up our dad’s belongings after he died, he was heard calling for help but staff didn’t check on him. I get it - He was difficult. But isn’t the staff hired & trained to deal with this? THE MAN WAS IN MEMORY CARE! Dementia can be ugly. I doubt this review will be published. Our family was traumatized by the way my father died. I wish I would have reported this place to the state. I did call the office and told them about the situation. More than one fall that took him to the ER in three weeks? Not good. He suffered unmercifully.

Very nice community - the small size would be a good fit for mom. They also would help with diagnosis, etc. Initially nurse would go to home to assess and then they handle from there.

I would tell others that the community provides a safe and caring place for my father. They do their best to make sure they are integrating and care and needs are taken care of. The staff has had a lot of turnover. It has gotten better in the last three months. During the turnover there wasn't good communication with the staff and families.

I toured Brookdale Point West and was very pleased with information provided and the programming available. The community was clean and staff was friendly and engaged with residents. I did not feel like this was the best place for my mom based on her needs at this time.

We think the prices for all the health care facilities are blown out of proportion, however for what you were getting at this community it was reasonable. Overall it was pretty good, it was kept clean and the food was nice. We did notice on some occasions the residents with dementia would hell and cuss during the meal time either at the nurses or because they didn't like the food.

We do think it was a very good place, our only problem we had was that they changed the staff and administrations a total of three times which caused us to know know anyone.

They are doing a good job with the Covid -19. They have window visits you can set up to see your loved ones. The food is fine. They don't have showers in the rooms. But I understand that they usually need help to shower so maybe that is not that big of a deal as I thought. They have a lot of nice common areas in and out of the building to spend time with your loved one.

This is the second nursing home I've put my husband in. The difference between [removed] and brookdale is like night and day. [Removed] was filthy, smelled, didn't keep my husband clear and over-medicated him. Brookdale keeps him clean, active, minimal meds and he really seems happy and content. Plus the staff is great!
