When my sister and I toured the facility we were instantly impressed with it . I explained that my mom’s biggest challenge was getting up but once she’s up she can walk well. I asked if they could help her get up if she needs it and they said yes . I asked question to more than one person . She still has very good cognitive ability and still pays her bills. She also manages her own medication so therefore she realty doesn’t qualify for skilled nursing . However , once we moved her in she had trouble getting up and they told her that they couldn’t help her . So this has been a challenge, we did get her a cushion for her chair but it’s still a struggle. So that was disappointing. She loves her caregivers and thinks they are great people but she says that the food isn’t very good and she has lost weight .... Read more

It has been a great experience for me (except for physical discomfort from surgery). The people are so kind and caring and will do anything they can to help you feel better. Activities, movies and entertainment when you feel up to it. Other residents are nice and make you feel very welcome. I am so glad I choose to come to Brookdale for my post-op recovery.

What we like the most about the Brookdale Painted Post community is the overall friendliness of the staff team. We would recommend this community to other families based on our experience so far.

I would highly recommend Brookdale Painted Post. The staff took exceptional care of my loved one. He was having some pretty serious mental health issues, yet they were there for every little request or need that came up. They were meticulous about getting him his meds and very accommodating to his eating habits. Every person that he or I came in contact with took the time and patience to make sure that he was happy and well cared for. The facility had many extra activities for the residents to participate in and offered a family type atmosphere. I feel so blessed that they were there to help in my time of need.

My loved one is a resident at Brookdale Painted Post. The staff are very caring and kind. My only concern is having enough staff. This is more of an issues in the evenings and on weekends. This is a very nice facility and it is well kept. The move in process was very smooth for us. You can get assistance with moving, if needed. As an Assisted Living facility, I would definitely recommend Brookdale Painted Post. They also have a great activities program. If a person needs help with dressing, bathing etc the staff shortage is a challenge. As a Memory Care facility, they are extremely limited.

I think they were in a hurry to get my loved one in before thoroughly checking out his health. However, I would probably recommend this facility to family and friends because there is not a lot to choose from in the area.

Response from Brookdale Painted Post
March 21, 2023Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
Definitely best in our area. They are short staffed/cleaners and nursing staff. We've experienced prescription's getting thrown away (no reason why) - scripts not being refilled on time and sometimes going 3-4 days without trash pickup or new towels.

The food is good. They have daily activities. We feel like we are getting what we are paying for. The coordinator has been awesome. We were reffered to Brookdale by APFM, and it did not look like a nursing home, and was a better atmosphere, and had lots of activites.

Brookdale Painted Post is a really good place for your mom, dad, or both parents. I think the staff shortages right now can lead to minor communication problems. But overall my loved one is very happy there. Everyone I've met there have been super nice, friendly, and seem to be very caring about the residents. Communication has been good between the community and our family. Anytime I have questions, they answer them. I had a lot of questions, which was really more ironing things out when my loved one moved in. We had some small problems in the beginning, but were able to get those issues straightened out. My loved one has made new friends while being there and I would recommend Brookdale to others.

This has been a good experience. It has helped my loved one in improving their health. The staff have been friendly and easy to work with if I have had questions or concerns over my loved one. Medication management, staff assistance if my loved one is not feeling well, and transportation as long as they have a driver is some of the care the community is able to provide. I wish they would have more of a consistent driver available to assist the residents with transportation. Housekeeping, changing of linens, utilities (except for land line and cable), apartment, laundry all the meals, and care are included in the monthly fee. My loved one has loved the meals. There are choices and my loved one feels all the food has been delicious. They have a nice variety of food to offer.

We loved Brookdale and now looking back, this facility would have been the best choice for our loved one. The staff were phenomenal and we just really liked everything that we saw. The only problem was that they did not have an opening at the time when we needed it.
We chose Brookdale Painted Post because they had availability quickly which is what we needed with the situation that we were in. They did seem to have a lot of turnover of staff members. Overall I would recommend to others.

We chose Brookdale Painted Post because I did some research online and they had the highest rating of any of the ones in the area we looked at. The location of the facility was also great for us. The room sizes here are reasonable. They were extremely upbeat whenever talking about arrangements, even when they knew of negative aspects they took the positive road to change her feelings towards having to be here. I do think the communication system for administrative staff could be better so I made that suggestion to them. I would absolutely recommend to other families that are looking.

The lady who took us on the tour was super nice, and all the people we interreacted with were super nice. My loved one actually really liked it and said it felt very homey. But it was just too far away. If we had stayed in that area, that would have been our choice.
The personable staff, the size of the room, and the care that they give my loved one are all good. The staff is good at making phone calls and emails to keep me updated on how she's doing. The exterior looks nice and well kept, but I haven't been able to view inside. The care seems good from what I can tell. My loved one is doing well. She's been able so stay quite busy socially with activities.

The daytime staff while the boss is there the staff is great, the evening staff was not good. On paper this community looks like a five star rating, but in reality it is a two star rating. The verbal communication with my family was wonderful. Unfortunately the verbal communication with my loved one wasn't going well, this was due to my loved one's medical condition. There was nothing in writing from the community.

Overall the communication at this community is good, our loved one participated more in the activities before COVID. We do think this community is somewhat outdated, the rooms are outdated as well. We did eat there a couple times when our loved one first moved in, and we think the food could use much improvement.

Everything about this community is excellent, we cannot say enough good things about it. We were incredibly impressed. The care services they had are excellent. They did offer activities to the residents, like bingo where they could actually win small prizes at the end. One thing that really stood out to us, was we had an appointment on a Saturday and right when you walked in there was a woman standing at a small table waiting to greet anyone that entered the building. We were really blown away but that, and how helpful and friendly she was, especially for being over the weekend. The room are more on the smaller side but still very nice. From our understanding the food at this community is good. This community is very nice, the hallway is decorated with beautiful pictures of the lakes in the surrounding areas.

I would tell my friends that it is an ok place. My loved one didn't join into any of the activities. The community provided ice cream and bingo as some of the activities. My loved one fell out of the bed, and the nurses didn't know about it for a while. There is no motion detector for my loved one when they fell. I wanted her in this community due to my loved one falling at home. The residents should be monitored closer at night. They do have an alert necklace, but there are times the residents can't push this alert button.
