I would tell a friend that Brookdale is a nice facility but that they need to be an active advocate to ensure appropriate services are provided.

The staff that work there are great, but the office office and dealing with payment is such a hassle. I chose Brookdale for the price, and that I could house my parents together.

Brookdale was horrible. My husband was in there 10 days and was bruised all over his body as well as numerous open sores. He walked in to the place and after taking him out, he never walked again. He passed away 4 months later. I would never recommend Brookdale and would warn people about putting their loved one in that hell hole. If it was possible to give them a 0, we would.

July 13, 2023We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents and their families. Our management team has reviewed these concerns and we wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
The only reason we gave the overall score a 3 is because the onboarding process and the continued payment issues. Other than that, the staff really cares about the residents who they care for and it shows in how the residents respond and live day to day.

I would tell other families do not go there. After 10 days I took him out. He had fallen several times and he was bruised from head to toe. It was terrible. They left him on the floor because they couldn't get him up. It was a nightmare.

Overall value here is good. No matter where your loved one goes you must visit and check in on them to assure all is going well. It's common for their things to be misplaced in a memory facility. Sometimes it's just the patients picking up the wrong things and it's not always the staff. I have heard people complain about this type of thing. We sometimes call ahead to assure she has a fresh shower when we take her for a dinner. They do this, but not daily so they are very good about getting her ready for us to get her. She also sometimes gets her nails done and they have fun activities. My favorite is when people come in and read to them and they also have Sunday services. Her room is really nice and better then the one she had in assisted care. Many of the patients are worse than she is so it's a little sad to see this. That said she could not find her way back to her room, dress herself or take a shower so it was time to make a move. We try to talk with the staff and get to know them I do feel this does help with the care a lot. We also put my mother in law on an anti depressant and this eased any irritability so it's much better for her now.

While my sweet father just passed, I wanted to take the time to thank the staff at Brookdale North Gilbert for taking excellent care of him for the past 2 years. Early on there was some turnover of management, but the facility now has an awesome group of staff and caregivers. I spent a lot of time with my dad at the facility and watched the interaction between the caregivers and my dad and the other residents. They treat the residents like their own family members. It was a relief knowing that my father was in such good hands. The caregivers got to know his likes and dislikes and were always respectful and compassionate. The facility feels like a home, and the caregivers make you feel like family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Brookdale North Gilbert would have been our 1st choice but there were too many underlining care costs that they could not give me any pricing for and I would have to completely furnish her room. The staff was friendly and did a good job with our tour, and the community was well kept up.

Same layout as Brookdale East Arbor. Memory/Alzheimer's facility. We don't need this level of care yet.

When we were looking for a community, we needed one that would convert to medicine when necessary. We really like this place because my loved one has her own private room and they staff have stayed on top of her care. The complex is clean and the transition when moving her in went smooth. The only hiccup so far was before we moved her in, we had arranged for them to pick her up and take her to the community but there was some miscommunication and it did not happen. Other than that, it has been a good experience so far.

We have a special circumstance for my cousin and this community went out of their way to help us move-in and with everything else. Everyone has bent over backwards for us and have been so nice and fantastic. I like that this facility is kept up and my cousin enjoys his meals here too!

I was originally going to go with the Chandler facility, but they pointed me to the North Gilbert facility and it has made all the difference. It is a great place and they have great people and I was very grateful and thankful for them to recommend this place. My loved one loves it there.

Brookdale North Gilbert promised more than is delivered. My brother feels like he has to be there every day to be sure mom gets the care that she needs. This facility doesn't seem equipped for proper nursing care. Mom has dementia and she doesn't get the care she needs. They don't seem have enough staff. They say things will get done but nothing ever does. Not satisfied at all with this facility. I may end up moving mom to another place.

August 19, 2015We apologize your Brookdale experience has been less than you expected. We would like to connect with you to discuss your concerns. Please send us an email familyconnection[at]brookdale[dot][com] so we can discuss with you further.
There aren't enough activities. The residents are always in the lobby just staring at each other. They need a huge improvement on the activities and cleaning the rooms. The communication with the staff has been reasonably good, except no one answers the phone on the weekends. You could call forty or fifty times and no one will answer if it's on a Saturday or Sunday. It is also expensive. It's pricey.

So far this is our pick. Don't like the community fee and the most expensive. Loved the courtyard and easy access for residents. Feel staff knowledgable in care for dementia people. Loved the magnets on fire doors .

This was a really nice community and the people were really friendly. They had locks on the door and were very secure. This was my first choice but as I visited other communities decided on different property. Everything was very nice and everything was very good but the staff just didn't go that extra mile like at other communities. We would recommend this community.

It's really nice and the people were very friendly but it's a little too pricey for me. They had it set up almost as a complete memory care facility. You have to be buzzed in an out and if you just go out an alarm with go off. It would have been almost $1600 more a month for me and that's a lot. From everyone that I talked to, it seemed like a very good group of people. It was clean and well organized and they had activites going on. It was a very nice place.
