Brookdale Meridian

The staff is always welcoming and friendly. According to my children who visits during mealtime , he has a healthy appetite. I know that y'all attempt to take him outside at times. Taking care of individuals are a difficult and time consuming task. I am thankful to all of you.

When I first toured Brookdale it looked like a nice facility and for the standard residents it could be. My aunt was in their memory care wing. There was a lot of staff turnover. The food served was generally something you would find on a kids menu at a restaurant and quite often cold. The "entertainment/tv room" is so small when they try to do activities residents are stacked 2 & 3 deep. The memory care wing is very dark - on outside windows in general public areas. When I checked my aunt into Brookdale there were lights in her room that needed to be replaced plus the cable in her room needed to be turned on. After a month neither of these had been taken care of. There was an episode where my aunt was having breathing problems and on the verge of a panic attack. The nurse on staff couldn't find a stethoscope so they took her blood pressure. I stayed with her until she calmed enough to go to sleep, the nurse never came bak to check on her. Finally - there were several times I would visit and equipment would be left in the halls (floor fans, purs carts, etc) making it difficult to navigate the hallway. People with dementia get confused easily and this definitely contributed to her anxiety level. When I signed the contract for the room I was promised 1 month free rent. I kept getting told they were working on it. When I gave them notice I was moving my aunt out, the credit miraculously was applied.

I found the leadership to be dishonest and manipulative! I am working with an attorney to settle a disagreement with them and my dad never even lived there. Not one day. Buyer beware! Don't sign a contract unless you're absolutely sure of what you're getting and when you plan to move in!!

My mom is diabetic and we pay extra for that. The nurses need educating on how to treat when blood sugar is low. The food is usually too spicy and too much pepper. The combination of food choices per meal doesn't go well together. Food portions are skimpy.

My wife spent a total of 3 nights there between [date removed] and [date removed]. It cost me over $[removed]. She died on the [date removed]. Brookdale has not offered to refund any of the money. Seems a bit pricey for 2 weeks. I would tell others to get an itemized list of all charges up front. They not only didn't offer a partial refund but charged me another $[removed] plus after she died. I asked for list of those charges over a week ago and still no reply.

Meals where over the top! Staff that did the work of taking care of mother where awesome. Great Ladies. Administration staff is not. They still have an open balance in their bill pay website for an amount we don't owe. I am so glad we did not setup recurring payments from her checking account. As they are charging her for the month after she passed away.

I will say that my brothers and I agree that we can't imagine life without Brookdale. The relief and piece of mind that we have now knowing that they are safe and their needs are respectfully taken care of is immeasurable. It's important to know regardless of the facility you choose that having a detailed understanding of the financial timelines/specifications and any specific limitations of care needed.

The food is terrible. They have fired several chefs since my mom has been there. Issues such as undercooked or overcooked food, not having the food that's listed on the menu, and running out of food before everyone has been served. Also my mom is diabetic and most of the choices are carbs and not sugar free.

Enjoyed a small event for the residents and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Residents and staffed seem to enjoy it there. It’s nice to see the staff get their residents out in the community. I think it makes a difference on quality of life.

Not pleased at all with what I was told the facility was equipped to do versus what we experienced. Please never refer anyone in his condition to their facility unless further training is given to them. It is an excellent facility for someone that can walk and mostly tend to their own activities of daily life. Please do not recommend this facility for someone that needs help with all aspects of daily life.

The staff members are all very friendly and when the families come to visit they know who you are and who your attached to. They invited us to stay for a meal on our loved ones first day there and it was perfect for her but a little bland to us - however we do understand the need for it to be bland with all the different dietary restrictions. The meal was beautiful prepared and present. Right now on the memory care side the activities to be somewhat limited but from what we can tell the assisted living side seems to have more. We would consider families to come check out Brookdale Meridian for their loved ones and see if it fits their level of need. So far it has been an overall experience

[name removed] was fantastic and so friendly. She got us through the signup process quickly. Brookdale is the best. The facility is very clean. The staff are extremely friendly. I play piano and couldn't help but notice the beautiful grand piano in the facility.

What I enjoy most about living at Brookdale is being with other people.

When we were able to visit the community, the activities looks really good it seemed like the residents were always kept busy, so are pleased with the activities.

I'm not a fan of the current director, but everyone else I love. They are so kind to my mom and really care. The room sizes are nice, The food is good and they good variety. I would recommend this community to others.

Find another community. The price that you sign a contract with does not stay that price. The food options are pitiful. The activities that are advertised to the family are not what they actually do. They don't communicate about medicine orders and have made multiple orders for the same meds in one week. I would not recommend this community.

My 94 year old father has been at Brookdale for six months now and we are so pleased with the level of service and attention he has received. The staff are all very friendly and accomodating to us since we live out of town and worry about him. The facility is always well maintained and a lot of effort goes into providing daily activities for the residents. He has adjusted to living there much faster than we expected largely due to the caring atmosphere. We are very thankful to have him in a place where we know he will receive the care he needs should the occasion arise. It is a lot less stressful for his family. I would highly recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for a solution for their relative who needs a little extra care.

The Brookdale has taken good care of my father. My father seems to be needing a higher level of care, but the staff does what they can to take car of him while I find a place that can suit his needs better.

Most hot meal items are not served hot, sometimes warm and like today, meat pattie cold and did not have gravy and mushrooms as on menu. Reported a roach in the apt when I first came to see my apt 3 weeks ago. Killed another one today.
