Brookdale McPherson

So far it has been a great experience for my Mom and for me. Everyone there r very kind and caring towards the residence and towards the families of the residence. The place is clean and the food it very good.

I think Brookdale was a great place for my Dad. The staff is great, but like most places they're understaffed so some things could be improved. I was disappointed in the fact that the monthly payment increased $[removed] in one year.

I would tell others looking into Brookdale McPherson that the staff are very friendly and they answer any questions that I may have. The main reason we chose this facility over others that we looked into at the time was because it was clean, had a very nice outdoor area for residents, and a café-type eating area.

This facility is very clean, smells good when you walk in, which makes such a difference! The staff are very quick to offer assistance and seemed to be very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

My experience here has been great. The food is pretty good, as well as the activities they provide. I have been here for six years and it has been pretty quiet. My favorite thing to do here is the exercise class. The concerts they have weekly are fun too.

Amazing experience and super helpful executive director. Very hands on and goal oriented to make my family feel safe and comfortable in everyway. Will definitely be recommending them to other family members and friends.

I learned about Mcpherson Brookdale in the Spring of 2021 when my wife [name removed] needed to have home care and I chose Brookdale to provide that care for her. [name removed] had mild dementia at that time and her doctor prescribed home care for a few weeks. Beside having her vials measured once a week the nurse gave me a lot of information about dementia and provided names of printed material that could help me take care of her. Although her dementia got worse as time went on. Finally I reached a point where I could not keep her at home anymore so I brought her to Brookdale to live. There were many activities at Brookdale and always had live music. Because of the great service at Brookdale I decided to come here in the middle of June when my doctor told me I also had dementia.

My husband has been in Brookdale since the first of the year. I have been truly satisfied with the care he has received. The first several months he was there, he was not a happy camper, and took more care and a lot of patients from the staff. The home is always clean and smells fresh. My husband says the food is good, and pleasing to the eye. The staff has been friendly to me. I am very pleased with Brookdale, and have recommended it to others.

When my husband passed away my son had to take over my husbands responsibilities. He checked every single nursing home and assisted living community in the area and he said "Mom, you have to go to Brookdale." I have lived here since [dates removed] and have had a great experience ever since. The girls and guys that work here are excellent workers and I really am so pleased living here. The workers are quick and attentive, and everyone here is so sweet to me.

On my recent visit to Brookdale in McPherson I was greeted by many wonderful staff members. They were all very helpful and accommodating to my needs and at answering my questions. I really like that they have a salon in the facility and that doctors come weekly. There is a new Executive Director and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Dad enjoys living here and the staff is great to him. I appreciate the care and friendships he has there and I feel confident he is well cared for. His only small complaint is the food choices. Thank you

Brookdale Mcpherson is a great place to be. The staff are very friendly and polite. The place was very clean, staff answered all my questions that I had. It is a really neat community that I feel is a safe environment for my loved ones.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th anniversary at Brookdale. Yep, Brookdale of McPherson. It was the middle of the COVID outbreak and we had not so much as touched fingertips in months. Aware and caring, the Brookdale staff provided us with a celebration—husband on one side of an open window, wife on the other. There were white tablecloths (for two separate tables), balloons, party favors, confetti, a special lunch and sparkling water served with a flourish, as if it were the finest champagne. This is the most striking example, yet is only one example of the way Brookdale notices and responds. Whether it is lethargy, loss of appetite, unexplained swelling, a suspicious rash, or loneliness, the staff and leadership at Brookdale take notice. They communicate with family and collaborate with family and resident as to whether a health issue can and should be attended by staff or whether the resident should seek the assistance of a specialist. The day to day staff did an excellent job taking care of our loved ones physical needs. However when it came to the medical side of things and distributing drugs and medications that is when we ran into issues. It was less then satisfactory and we had great difficulties communicating with the nurse practitioner.

I placed my mom at Brookdale McPherson in November. The staff have been friendly and the food is good. My mom loves that fact they go on outtings and she gets to interact with people she has known in the community over the years. The nursing staff is friendly and she has been very well cared for since her move. Our experience has been very positive.

My friend is lonely since moving into Brookdale. I have seen worse but this is still not a great place. She has lost weight since moving in as they are not making sure she has the correct diet. There are no activities to keep her busy. There are some staff that are nice but they are so short staffed it is hard to keep up with the residents.
