The only thing that was disappointing was that it was so expensive. But the director and staff were great to work with and it had a wonderful family feel.

The Brookdale Hattiesburg Memory Care staff put me at ease with my mom's move to the facility. They made sure to ask questions about her likes and dislikes. They always communicate about her needs and care. The move in was handled well by the director and support staff in getting mom in her room and feeling safe. We've been very pleased overall!

I have been very happy with the care my Mom receives. She likes the place and says she doesn't want to move. I like the way the facility rooms are set a circle with outdoor space in the middle. They have an activity room you can book to have a family birthday party in. Staff is very friendly and willing to help you. I would recommend Brookdale Hattiesburg Memory Care.

We picked this community, because it was the only true memory care facility, and it was smaller. I would recommend this faciltiy.

I have heard conversations amongst residents regarding the food and I think some improvements could be made with the overall dining experience. That's the one thing I know didn't just come from my mom, the residents are not happy with the food. I overheard one lady saying she didn't have stomach issues until she moved to Brookdale. The meals are more on par with school cafeteria food. I originally thought it was just my mom being a picky eater until I overheard those comments. My mom got the level of assistance that we paid for. Anything extra like help with moving around or administering medications, and it would've been more. We didn't need that help, but I would advise others to be as independent as you can be. If you do need extra help, be willing to pay for it because those things don't just happen. My mom was walking down the hall with a worker and they were having a conversation. Another worker stepped out and said, "you don't need to be helping her at all, she doesn't need any help.". The worker replied that she was just having conversation. My mom was offended by that and I didn't appreciate it either. That conversation could have been held in private if she thought something was wrong; but it made my mom feel like she wasn't worthy of small talk or conversation with the workers. There were also issues with her TV and it seemed like they were blowing her off or as if they didn't think there was an actual problem. We had different family members who came by to help and were told by the workers, "We don't think there's a problem". I told them that I'd be calling Comcast to come by and fix it and shortly after that, they solved the issue themselves. I didn't appreciate how they handled that situation either. When we moved in everything was good except for the bathroom. There was old feces/stains in the toilet. We can forgive things like that, it just wasn't a good first impression that the previous persons mess was still visible. From what I saw the workers were doing multiple jobs so I understand that some things can get overlooked. But once you've mentioned something a few times, you start to feel like "ok whatever". One thing I was really concerned about was when we were moving in it was easier to go through the side entrance, and every single time we went through you could walk right in that side door...it was never locked. When you're living in a town with people walking up and down the street, you never know who may try and go in. We visited one time and they said we could use the side entrance and they would make sure it was unlocked, but it was already unlocked. We had to tell them that, as they weren't aware of it. Exit doors should only be used to leave and no one should be able to go back in, unless there's a stopper in the door. After a certain time of the day, there should be no entry from the outside/side door at all. That safety aspect needs to be addressed. Ultimately my mom was only there for about a month, but it was a good place. Compared to the other two places we saw, it was the best fit for us. Thankfully she didn't need the extra help while she was there. I would say she got the assistance she needed and it was an overall good experience.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had no problem getting visitation time. And my loved one was allowed to have friends come visit her as well. A friend of mine also had a loved one here, and they didn't have any problems either . All was positive. They continued to offer activities, and it always looked like they kept the residents busy anytime I came by.

Our mother is going well here. She is always dressed and clean. Since she can't care for herself, this is important to our family. The meals are tasty and appealing.

I was very impressed by the general cleanliness of the common areas and friendliness of all the staff we met on our visit. We were able to meet the cook, housekeepers, social worker and many of the residents; most of whom were walking the hall or sitting together in the front "living room" socializing. Every resident we talked to asked if we were "moving in" and told us we would love it there.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised as to how well my mom is adjusting to this community. She has already seemed to have settled into a routine. She is doing activities when she wants and she is enjoying meeting new people and making friends. The food is fine and they serve good portions. The inside of the community is nicely decorated neutral colors on the walls and plenty of lighting. There seems to be enough space in the common areas around the building for residents with walkers or wheelchairs.

I am doing fine and I like being a resident of the community. The meals have great options. The staff are great in all they do. They plan great activities for us and they do great at cleaning the community. My apartment is comfy but it is very expensive too.

I had a nice tour of this community. Everyone was kind, and friendly to my family, and I. The staff I met was cordial, and informative. The experience went well overall, but I did find another community that suited our needs better.

I like the care here for my father. The staff is caring. The menu is good and a nice variety is available. He is offered activities and at this time he is not participating. We do recommend other families to this community for safe and great care for a loved one.

Moved my mom here just over 1 month ago and she is doing so much better here than where she resided before. There are so many engaging activities every day, and the entire staff is so well trained in how to encourage each resident's participation in those activities. Each day that I visit, I meet another staff member who has such a genuine love and concern for the health and overall welfare of each resident. The interaction between staff and resident is on a personal level to encourage residents to talk and even laugh while still providing the needed care and safety. RN's are reachable on site or by phone to update me about my moms condition or answer any questions I have. On site PT, OT, & a Nurse Practitioner were available for my mom upon her admission. These folks are amazing. The administrative staff is very helpful and reachable. Any questions and/or concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Only wish I had moved my mom here sooner!

Having to find a place for Mom was becoming very frustrating. Her special circumstances required more than a "regular" nursing home could provide. I just happened on this website and so glad I did. Over a 3-4 day period we were set up with a delightful group of people that helped us find just the place we wanted. The staff show care and concern for Mom and keep us informed of her sudden needs. All I can say is "Thank you"

I haven't been there much, so it's hard to say. It's very nice, just from the couple of times I have been there. I haven't really heard any concerns or complaints at all so far.
