Brookdale Hattiesburg Assisted Living

We had several things taken from my mom's room. They were not giving us information when they would take my mother to the Dr. it became a "nickel and dime" us to death with no end in site- professional leaches that suck the families dry. Not a fan of Brookdale and I would never recommend it to friends or family only to my enemies friends and family.

Great staff to work with and good communication to family. I would recommend to others.

Friendly staff, transparency on costs, willing to work with me on cost and LTC insurance coverage. Facility is clean and interviews with tenants were positive

The only complaint is they have poor communication skills, between the staff members due to supervisors. If a person is off, they don't have someone in place to help my loved one unless, my loved one has to get someone to assist her by calling front desk. The staff itself are kind people. They provide music, bingo and other activities

What we like - It's welcoming and friendly. Residents are encouraged to be together and share life together. Areas of Improvement - Meal prep, cooking and seasoning, and serving could use vast improvement. Eating good tasting meals is something to anticipate. They have to wait 30-45 minutes to be served On occasion.

We picked this community because, it was newer looking, more modern and clean. The sales staff was friendly. The nursing staff is really doing a good job. They have improved on somethings, and have been top notch. Th elast month things have been excellent.

We've been there since the middle of [date removed]. And my main concern is our loved one's medication management - they have let us down tremendously with that. We pay extra for that service, and I keep finding medication all over the place in her room. They hand her a cup of pills at mealtime, and they don't watch her take them. She has dementia, so they should know they need to watch her to make sure she takes them. I've asked them several times to do so. The director is aware, and hopefully it will be better managed going forward. Otherwise the daily care is good. They're all friendly, and she's well cared for otherwise. Communication is lacking though- for instance our family found out about care that she was receiving via insurance EOBs instead of Brookdale letting us know about it directly.

The regular staff are great. Sometime the agency staff are just a little different just because they are not there all the time. I would recommend this community. We have had a good experience overall.

We chose Brookdale Hattiesburg because the price was the cheapest that we were able to find. The room sizes here are very nice. They did have quite a few activities provided for the residents but my loved one did not participate. The covid virus was going on while she was here, so there was not a lot of freedom. Overall though, I think if they improved the food and the care it would be worth the money.

We have been very pleased so far with Brookdale Hattiesburg. My mom is adapting well, she said the other day she could stay the rest of her life so she is getting used to things. My mom said she does enjoy the food, she said she can get order anything that she wants, there was a menu on the wall but they serve it buffet style. The director has been great and the staff really try to keep the residents content and happy.

The staff at this community were nice, friendly and helpful. The food was ok, however they do use a little more spice than mom preferred. The community is kept very clean. This community is a little expensive and I would recommend taking a look at it to see if it would work for your loved one.

After touring the Brookdale Hattiesburg, I even wanted to live there. The place is very clean and maintained well. The tour guide that took us around the building was on time and knowledgeable. I loved the place.

The staff at the Brookdale Hattiesburg I was amazing. The friendliness and special attention given to each resident at this community made the decision to choose this place so much easier. The meals are all prepared very good with correct portions and very nutritious. The complex offers a range of activities and even asks the residents for their input on what new activities they would like to add! The cleanliness is very good overall but the maintenance could use some improvement with the cleaning of the bathrooms.
