Brookdale Findlay

Highly recommend - the staff was amazing!!My favorite thing about Brookdale was the staff - they go above and beyond for their residents. They felt like part of our family - and I miss them now that dad has passed. I also really liked the layout of the facility. One big circle (square) made everything accessible, but somehow afforded a good amount of privacy. Side note: it was important to me that if/when Dad became weaker or his care needs increased... I didn't want to have to move him to a different facility. I was very upfront about that with everyone I talked to. Brookdale assured me that they were able to care for most residents through end of life. And true to their word, they provided excellent care for Dad through to the end. Even assisted with us bringing Hospice in the last few days.

Enjoying new friends some activities, most of the food. Like my apartment.

All the people are nice and friendly. Food is good considering my lack of appetite. Activities are fun.

The people are very friendly always something to do. The community in pleasant and very clean.

All the employees are helpful & really know all the residents & their habits. The pharmacy Remedy forgot to send a maintenance prescription for 3 days. The nurses, aides, & kitchen staff are a 5. They need more variety, less carbs like pasta & breading, and healthier snacks on the snack cart. [name removed] the activities director is awesome! Prices raised 4 months after moving in and I think one outing a month should be free.

My beautiful (92 years of old) mom’s health began failing very quickly (Alzheimer’s and congestive heart failure) forcing my siblings and me to find living arrangements with outstanding professional care. This was incredibly difficult for me because I had promised my mom, I would never put her in a “nursing” home, but we wanted to keep her and my stepdad together. So, we began the search for assisted living facilities in the area. Based off my limited knowledge of assisted living vs nursing homes and all the negative media of nursing homes, I was skeptical to say the least. I wish I had the space to list each staff member by name and what I appreciate about them. The love they have for the residents is evident with every interaction. I was talking with one of them after my mom’s passing expressing the appreciation I had for every staff member and what they did for my mom. She chuckled and said, “We aren’t perfect”. I suppose that is true, but they were perfect for my mom.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Findlay and his experience at this facility was very positive. They took excellent care of him. Based on our experience, I would definitely recommend Brookdale Findlay to others.

The staff is very helpful, very caring,and make it feel like home for my dad and comforting for my siblings and I too knowing we made the right decision in placing our father at Brookdale. I can walk in here anytime of day and the cleanliness and atmosphere of fun activities and friendship is always present. I couldn't imagine having chosen anywhere else for dad.

The experience I have is Brookdale assistance living is a wonderful place to have your love one live. The facility is very clean, organized, care givers and staff are very friendly, helpful, and they know there job. The apartment is very clean and nicely decorated. So my opinion is I know I don't have to worry about my mom because she is well taken care of. The nurses and staff notified you and keep you updated on any information.

Overall, it has been a good move and my parents are adjusting fine. I'm at peace knowing my parents are being taken care of there, and they have others there to socialize with and not be alone. Based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Findlay, we would recommend them to other families.

We love Brookdale Findlay for our Mom, and more importantly, she loves Brookdale, too! Mom has been a resident for a year and a half now so we can review with confidence Their programming and staff are particularly excellent.

Brookdale has been such a blessing and help to me and my mom. They have so many activities for the residents ti keep them busy and active with each other. I don't even know when to call my mom anymore! They take her on outings that are planned and even spontaneous outings to help pick supplies up. They are the only facility that would allow her standard poodle to go with her and live there. I don't have to worry ever because the people that work there are very honest, protective, and compassionate. I am happy about how much my mom is thriving there. It was the best decision I made through this entire very difficult phase in my mom's life.

The staff is very friendly and sincerely care for the residents. The staff is engaged with the family and communication is good. The Activities Director is wonderful. She has many engaging activities planned each week. She also tries to customize things like library books, gardening activities etc based on individual interests. The facility has just been redecorated and it is beautiful and well kept. The move in was a breeze. The facility is one level and there is access through service doors if needed for shorter trips from trailer to the room. The meals are very good and well balanced. They offer plentiful servings. They will take special meal requests as well. Residents are encouraged to dine together at least 2 times each day. Preferably all meals. We are very happy with Brookdale Findlay.

The people are the best here at Brookdale. Caregivers and Residents make it a good place.

Everyone gets along. Lots of things to do. Residents are very friendly. Would like less chicken. Pretty good desserts.
