This place promised us everything, but they were lying to our faces. Everything would be covered, they said. It turns out everything costs extra. They have not taken care of my grandparents. My mother brought them here so she wouldn't have to work hard for them, but she's doing double the work she's had to do before, because these people do nothing, unless you pay extra. They hate that my grandfather uses a scooter to get around. They refuse to give them their daily pills that are already in the pill box unless you pay extra. They take my grandparents to the hospital even though it's unnecessary, and they don't let them come back from the hospital unless they are perfectly well. It's ridiculous. Do not send your relatives here.

The staff is friendly, the place is immaculate, but be sure they evaluate your loved one completely and accurately. My mother was there for about 7 weeks when I was told that she needed dementia care, and she would have to move to another facility. I feel if she had been evaluated fully and correctly, I wouldn't have had to put her through the trauma of a second move. I wish she had been able to stay there, as she was starting to find friends there. But her night terrors were frequent, loud, and unpredictable, and that's mostly why she had to move.

October 24, 2024We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents and their families. Our management team has reviewed these concerns and we wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
I have lived at Brookdale Evesham for about 3 months in an assisted living room. The aides are great. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. It typically takes about an hour from the time a meal is ordered to the time it is served. Even then, the food isn't always prepared correctly, even when a special request is made. Oftentimes it is lukewarm at best. If I were able to opt out of eating meals in the dining room in exchange for a reduced rent payment, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Brookdale Evesham is very clean, bright facility. Staff is friendly and helpful. Meals are well prepared and tasty. Residents appear happy. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

The staff at Brookdale Evesham are all very friendly and supportive. But there's not enough staff and you can see the stresses because of the under staffing. We are a family that was all over the move in, and communication etc. We are still very engaged. All went fine. I would suggest family be engaged, no matter what facility they choose. The meals are mixed, but for the most part are enjoyed. Suggestion....reconcile the services requested/paid for to services actually delivered and to the resident's expectation. Have a way to present this and create alignment. There are clear gaps and it seems that it is up to family to address them. Each persons needs are different so hard to say I'd recommend to anyone, but overall I would recommend.

The executives here knew our mother had dementia and recruited us, ensuring us that we did not need a memory care facility, that they could do everything a memory care place could do. The most important thing to us was that they would have a rapid response time to the alert button that our mom would wear, and also that they could adhere to a schedule to make sure she was getting help in the bathroom & getting up and/or going to bed on schedule. When they immediately had trouble keeping their promise to us, they blamed it on my mom, saying she was non-compliant or that she could “make her own decisions”. Considering that the stroke my mom had had that caused her dementia affected the part of her brain that impacts executive functioning (decision making), that was appalling to hear from the head nurse. The place is woefully understaffed and undertrained. She fell once and waited an HOUR for them to get to her, and this was after we CALLED. Stay away if your parent needs actual care.

The staff at Brookdale are very caring and compassionate and work with you. They were way more down to earth than the other facilities that I visited. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Evesham to others looking.

It all comes down to being understaffed. Her aids are very nice and competent for the most part, but they are understaffed. Communication between aides and management is very problematic.

It has been ok, but not great. We had some issues in the first few month with mom not getting assistance with bathing and that is an extra service that she pays for. We finally had to drop it because it is too inconsistent and now she does it alone. Also she has two falls and no one answered the emergency call when she pushed the button in her room. They have a problem with residents using it for non-emergency purposes and they do not have a way to triage the calls. We have had to raise it with the executive director a few times. As a work-around, she now wears her phone around her neck.

I toured this community. It was very nice, the staff was caring and compassionate. They were great about answering all of my questions!
Sometimes the aides are good, sometimes they're a little slack. All in all they're pretty good. And if I say something, they get right on it and get it figured out. The facility is very nice. My mom is very involved in the activities and seems to enjoy them. She used to just sit in her chair all day, and now at Brookdale, she's up and active, which has been good for her.

The facility seemed very nice and the tour went well. Lots of options to consider.
Staff are very willing to sit down and talk with you and help you through everything - they are very nice people and help you through the whole process. It is expensive but wroth it because of all that they provide for him. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Evesham to others.

Overall we had a good experience. It was a very short stay, but the time my loved one did spend there was pleasant. They did the best they could for her. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, from the people we met with to do the tour, to the nursing staff, to the aides. They were very accommodating for us. And the facility itself was very nice overall.

I feel like this is a good community. They cut back activities due to covid and are not able to do as much.

brookdale is a good community, but could be better. due to Covid, the meals were being delivered to their rooms and often times were cold. my loved ones mobility level made warming up the food a tad more difficult than it should have been, had the meals been served hot or warmed. Covid has also effected the staffing retention, which in turn effects the level of care the residents are receiving. my biggest concern regarding their lack of staff, is the response time to residents who may been in a state of emergency. my loved one has a wrist brand with a pendant that can be used to alert staff if they are in need of something. that "need" can vary from asking for a beverage to falling down and not being able to get back up. i was led to believe that there was some sort of system put in place that would differentiate the "wants" from the "needs", but that does not seem to be the case. i do feel that they should make their response time a priority as it concerns me that my loved one could be in an emergent state without any help for a while. brookdale has not been upfront with their processes regarding care services and how some things are handled. the families would really benefit from an in depth orientation addressing different care service scenarios and how the community will approach them. i was kind of left to fiend for my self and figure things out alone on several occasions. i also found that some of the nurses and staff were unknowledgeable in some of the most common processes; which did surprise me, as i thought those particular things would have been known. due to the amount that we are paying, i was also shocked to learn that certain levels of care are not included. there is a language barrier between the nurses and myself and outside parties; this did make communication a little difficult at times. the families and staff could both benefit from better education and honest, yet frequent communication. brookdale does have good activities, although my loved one may not always participate. they are very caring people and some staff members go above and beyond what is expected of them. this community has a good vibe to it that i really like. they always seem eager to address any issues i've brought up, so i am hopeful that things will change. they just seem to be struggling from the recent effects of Covid, as being understaffed directly effects the residents. once we establish a sense of normalcy again, i'm sure things will improve; and with those improvements brookdale would be a great place!

We had a wonderful tour with Brookdale Evesham. The facility was brand new and beautiful, it was our second choice. The only reason we did not choose them was because the location was further from us and it was more expensive.
