The employees are , overall, excellent. The food is fine. Not a lot of activities and, according to my loved one, some of the residents are racist snobs.

We are actually not very happy with the facility. Rates went up tremendously. Their discount doesn't apply to any increases. And there has been a decline in the food quality since they got there. I've had several issues with their room cleaning as well. That seems to have got a little better though. I feel like they play games with the rates. And like I said the quality of food is not good or the way they describe the house cleaning isn't what they do

Staff is awesome and very informative always. When I visit, they know me by name. Mom is very satisfied with Brookdale.

The staff at Brookdale Country Day Road was very kind and went out of their way to make sure that everybody stayed connected. Moving in and getting set up was simple and streamlined. Any help that we needed was provided or they helped us find services to assist. There were a lot of interesting activities and the facility had an inviting environment. They were also very sincere and gracious after our family member passed. I would strongly recommend this facility to family and friends.

We were disappointed over the quality of the meals, the nursing supervisor was not very involved and had no knowledge of my mom falling and breaking ribs, having to constantly chase down staff and director to get better care, questions answered. There was a horrible urine smell on the first floor hallway down from the cafeteria coming from a woman's room who sat at computer with her door open everyday. I never had peace while she was there. Then rent was increased by nearly $[removed] after being there only 7 months and we had to scramble to move her. Then Brookdale kept sending me a $[removed] bill for a charge that had been removed from her account that was inaccurate. The whole experience was so stressful.

Dietary has been our biggest struggle. My loved one is diabetic and we were led to believe there would be a well-rounded menu to choose from but it has not turned out to be that way. I have not been real impressed with the nursing staff, especially the director. We have had some concerns there with the follow through. It is not what we thought it was going to be, but we are trying to still make the best of it.

My loved one has lived here for [time frame removed]. The receptionist, med techs, caregivers, cooks, and cleaners are good people. The nurses also try to do their best. The new director who took over the facility in May (2022) is not very responsive to the needs of the residents or their loved ones. He's not very good at following through or following up. To rephrase, he's not going to take action if there is an issue of any kind. When he can't (more like a won't) take action, he will proceed to ignore most correspondence, especially, in the form of email. Verbally communicating to him also doesn't get anyone anywhere either. Again, he's not good with following through. So, if there is an issue, he's not going to do much about it.

Stay far away!

I would tell others this is definitely a place to consider. There is good value for the money here. I felt my loved one was safe and well cared for by the staff. The staff were good at communicating with the family with any questions or concerns we had.

Sometimes they were very hard to get in touch with so the communication could be improved, however the staff members were always very friendly. Due to the covid restrictions the activities were shut down the entire time, but we did think we got a good value for the money. Our only other issue is that there was not really any security.

I would tell others to check it out the community. I can't always get someone to answer the calls at the front desk but know they are busy. They were able to work with the family and loved one to make a quick transition.

There has been a turnover of staff since the pandemic has started. In the local area, to the best of my knowledge, it is the best we have. My loved one only has part of the original med techs. The new med techs are still in training. The kitchen manager recently changed. Now half the time my loved one enjoys the food. The residents are eating in their rooms due to the pandemic.

The cost of this facility was comparable to others in the area, They offered lots of activities also. The dining facility looked very nice, and the decor was also nice and it seemed like a great place.

I call on the weekend, and I can't get a hold of anyone. I left a message last week, and I've never received a call back. I'm now having to following up with the community. I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone. Due to the memory care conditions of my loved one, I won't move my loved one. If we were to move my loved one, it would disrupt them completely. Each week I visit my loved one they have the same clothes on. I've asked the community to shower and change my loved one, and it doesn't get done.

I think it is a reasonable price overall. I am having issues right now with wait times for care. If you are active and get around on your own it is okay but if you need more assistance there are some issues. The staff is good but I feel they are understaffed which contributes to the longer wait times. I was having supplemental care brought in to assist my mom but now with the quarantine that is not possible. The layout of the community is nice, the food is close to poor.

Staff is extremely friendly, polite and caring to residents. The facility is very clean and scent free. The location is great for my family and they have a lot of recreational activities for residents. I was really impressed with the overall environment and services offered.

My sister-in-law is doing well here, the staff has been wonderful with her and her transition. She is starting to come out of her apt more and she really enjoys going to the dining room for her meals, in fact, she is really pleased with the menu. They are more than willing to accommodate us as we are in a different city so we do a lot of long distance and they make sure we are kept well informed. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Brookdale Country Day Road seemed like a very nice place overall, it was clean and well kept and the staff were all very friendly. My loved one doesn't require the level of assistance provided here just yet, but this is definitely somewhere we will consider if that time comes!
