We like that the manager is level headed and seems to be organized. We like the food overall, and my brother who lives there had dental surgery and they accommodated his need for soft food. Things for improvement. There seems to be an overall neglect of the property. Inside is very dated and dreary. The potholes in the driveway are just awful. The residents are not able to lock their doors. In a way I understand this but if management had a master key then it seems like it would be safer. For a while there were 2 residents who entered by brothers room without permission. There was little he could do.... Read more

Bristol Manor of Raymore is the only assisted living place I could find in our area for my Dad who is on Medicaid. I like they are small, only 12 residents. Like the current staff that is very kind. Like they are able to accept Medicaid.

Well, my brother is the client and he has mental illness but it sounds like there isn't much communication to the clients about what is going on. As an example, the manager and her boyfriend live on site. My brother complains that they go to an amusement park everyday. I've tried to tell him that she probably has vacation days or comp days when she does that, but it is upsetting to him. I understand that he doesn't need to know but it would be a nice courtesy if the manager is "out" for the clients to know. For such a small and affordable place overall I think they do a nice job.

This is the only independent living facility in the area that accepts medicaid which is the only reason my dad was able to afford it. It is very small, there is only a maximum of 12 residents at this location but they do have other locations as well. Although it is independent they still help him out with his medications and laundry. He has said that they served a lot of reheated foods. There are not many activities provided at all.

We toured this community. It is a smaller community with not a lot of residents. We were happy to have our questions answered by the care. We did not like seeing other residents outside smoking. they have home cooked meals, This community needs some assistance with the care and responsibilities of the residents. Families might consider taking a tour of this community.

February 17, 2020Thank You for your review. Some of our facilities do provide outside smoking areas for residents as it is a choice for many people. I appreciate your insight into our community. Sincerely,
We had an okay experience while touring. I was shown around and saw that the carpet could have been vacuumed. It seemed like it could be cleaned a little more. There was good interaction between the staff and residents. I thought they had quite a bit of residents here. This was a big community and not the place we needed.

February 17, 2020Thank you for your insight into our community. We are however a small (12) bed facility . Sincerely,
The current management has been outstanding. They show that they truly care for the residents. Until this time there has been a high rate to management turnover. The place is clean, the meals are good and my mother currently has no complaints.

February 17, 2020Thank You for the kind review. Sincerely,
My mother got confused and stopped drinking water , because they did not properly take care of her she continued to not drink water and became emergency status dehydrated. Instead of helping her or calling the EMS , they called me and told me I had one hour to come pick her up !!!

February 17, 2020These details are contrary to operating procedures. Physicians and emergency services are always available to our residents. Feel free to contact me personally ,I would appreciate your time. Sincerely,
We have been pleased with our experience with Bristol Manor of Raymore. One area where I do feel that they could improve would be to have more activities. They are a bit lacking in that area. Other than that everything has been great. The facility itself is very nice and clean, and it was generally a very good experience.

February 17, 2020Thank You for your insightful review.
It's okay, but it's got faults. I don't think that they do enough. They don't have any real activities or anything. I think she is safe, but she isn't happy there. I don't really have any major complaints. They were one of the more reasonably priced places, and the care is good. The food isn't the best, they don't look exceptionally appetizing, and meal times are very informal. They are pretty sweet people, and they keep it very clean.

February 17, 2020Thank you for your insights of the community, We take your comments/concerns seriously in our endeavor to provide quality care. Sincerely, Bristol Care,
The difference in my mom since she has come here is fantastic. Her medicine is regulated, she is eating normally again. They are very good. I think compared to other places the value is excellent. There are no nurses on staff, it's not really what I would call assisted living, they have a nurse and a doctor that visit regularly, but are not on staff there. They do have someone that is legal to dispense medications, and does a very good job.

February 17, 2020Thank you for your kind review!
We toured this community when we were looking into care options for my loved one. This community looked nice enough during the tour, and the staff we met were friendly, however it had a more businesslike feel than the community we ended up selecting. It didn't have the homey feel we were looking for. The price was also a bit higher than similar options we looked at.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
