My mother truly enjoyed her short time there, it was wonderful. In her words she was really dreading it because she thought a month would be a long time, but the time just flew by for her. What caught our attention of the facility was the cleanliness of it, the clientele, the nursing staff that we saw when we first visited, the lunch room was really pleasant, and everything was just aesthetically pleasing. The provided activities like handing out candy to the kids during Halloween, they had music, nothing too elaborate. Overall the staff is caring, helpful, and just awesome.... Read more

when your loved one dies from their awful care like my father did they'll call your mom from his room phone three months after his death to collect their money. i don't even have the words for how traumatizing that was for her. these people are disgusting, consider this the tame version.

My father was discharged from the hospital to Skilled Nursing at Briar Hill. There were no beds; he was admitted to an overflow bed in the nursing home. The nursing staff would roll their eyes with unabashed sighs and under-the-breath comments regarding the amount of work he required. There was a lack of heat in my father's room, staff acknowledged the same. Four days after the complaint, a maintenance technician reported a problem with the radiator. He could not fix it. They did not move him. I saw blood and drainage on the sock of his heel. I asked the nurse about it, and she said she never looked at it. He had a leg length brace on and no one checked his foot? He was not getting skilled nursing care; he was getting sub-par nursing from a nursing home. My father is not a difficult man; he is 91-years old., He has been through a traumatic couple of months and deserved to be treated with respect. Unfortunately, space restrictions prevent more detail.

A Place for Mom has scored Briar Hill Health Care Residence 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
