Blue Sage Assisted Living - Moon Valley

I moved my mom to Blue Sage about 3 months ago. I never thought I would have to move her into an assisted living home. The manager, [name removed] has been so helpful and understanding. I have a lot of questions since I’m new to this and he has answered every one and truthfully. He and the staff are much appreciated. The July 4th BBQ was a big hit for the family!!

The care technicians here were amazing with my parent. The majority of them would go out of their way to provide exceptional care. There was nothing asked of them that they would not accommodate. They were very friendly and you were always made to feel welcome to visit. They actually strongly encouraged it because they knew it improved the moral of the resident. I watched many times while a care tech would spend lots of time reading to or feeding my parent with personal care and patience. Interactions with the Director of the home were not as successful. You always got the feeling he was trying to protect himself when asked for details about what happened at the home. Instead of just providing facts, you would get spin. Or when you needed details, you would get yes/no answers. It was very frustrating. It is a tough decision where to put your loved one. This is a beautiful facility in a lovely neighborhood with great staff. But you likely will have to play hard ball with the Director. No one home has everything you want. But you should understand going in what you will be dealing with.

I toured this facility recently while visiting a family friend and it was such a beautiful home , very clean smelled good like food cooking , such a warm Cozy feeling good positive vibes coming from there caregivers i was met with big smiles and the staff looked happy , also the people who lived there where sooo happy smiling and laughing such a positive home to visit .

The home was pleasant, however,our friend found it wouldn't do for her since she would not have a private bathroom, and there would be a significant monthly charge to be able to use her land line phone. The lunch was adequate at best. A caregiver treated one resident with little dignity or respect when coaxing her to eat something she didn't enjoy. Nothing else was offered once she started nibbling at the food on the plate.
