Best Life Home Care

Removed my family member from this place to one that actually cares about residents and their families... Best Life Home Care overcharged above the maximum amount listed online for my family member and stated it was due to being on Hospice-ridiculous, no other places do that. Paid over [removed]/month! Average costs for the area are about [removed]/month. Best Life uses undocumented persons for the care of residents, so if they don't like them, they can fire them without notice or just cause. That actually happened to one of the care givers. Also heard that at times residents were left in dirty diapers for long periods without being changed. Phone calls were put on speaker to listen to conversations. (not everyone has hearing issues-phone calls should be PRIVATE!) This place needs a serious compliance review! I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Located in a residential neighborhood with a nice front and backyard, the home seemed well run, orderly and clean. Lunch was being prepared upon my arrival and it appeared as if everyone had a routine of eating at the table together. The clients were in the living room in comfy recliners knitting and watching TV while waiting for lunch to be prepared. The ratio of women to men was a little high for what I'm looking for but I was left with the impression that they followed a nice daily routine and the atmosphere was bright and comfortable.

I was sorry to read the first review. That is not "my take" at all. I think the place is wonderful. They TRULY care for the people as if they are one happy family. There are hugs & kisses & laughter all the time. The previous 2 places I had my Mother at kept the clients in their bedrooms all day except for meals. I like that this facility brings their clients out to the living room to spend the day. I can go over there any time of the night or day and I always find my Mother and the other clients happy. There's always something going on so the mental stimulation is great. I have recommended this facility to several people and will continue to recommend it.

On the surface it really seemed like a nice place - very tidy & updated. But it all changed pretty quickly. There is no privacy; they barely knock before they enter - even if you are changing. They go through ALL of their things, including paperwork. They charge $20-$40 to drive them anywhere & there is no access to public transportation nearby at all. The "couple" that runs this home does not communicate with each other & are almost never there at the same time. They said it would cost one price, had her sign the paperwork before it was all filled out, changed the quoted price to $200 more/mo. and they don't provide rental receipts most of the time. I am very upset at how the tenants are treated and would most definitely NOT recommend this home. This place needs a serious inspection by Social Services & advocates for the tenants.
