Mother had many abrasions and no explanation

This was a daughters worse fear. My mother had been at Bethany living during Covid and had bruises on her, not minor ones. I can share pics if you request. No one could explain it. When I went to visit my mom and ask about it she would flinch. The owner didn’t care about her she was only concerned about her cable box. At one point they even took toilet paper from my mom. Please don’t send your loved one hear, especially if that can’t communicate When reported the ombudsman found many ways to cite them

I would recommend the community for the right person

We chose this facility because it is a smaller community and I knew my dad would be more comfortable here than a larger one. My dads room is very nice size, it was a house that was converted, so pretty big. I have not eaten here, but my dad seems to like it. the best part about the community so far has been how close it is to me and the residents here are friendly. One downside is they do not seem to be taking the residents out anywhere, but I am not sure if it is due to COVID or not. I would recommend the community for the right person.

Horrible place.

This is a horrible place. Do NOT place your loved ones here. They serve VERY low quality food and VERY little of it. Their website states they take the residence on "outings" and have planned activities. I asked the owner for a schedule of the activities. He said they do not have outings and they do not have a schedule. A couple of the residences go to a daycare 3 xs a week. Maybe that is what they mean by outings??? I have been there on a few occasions. All the residents do is color and watch NBC news.(brainwashing) This place has an outside patio and no chairs to sit on. It is either freezing inside or super hot and stuffy. The windows are not open in the day to let fresh air in. At night, the heat is not turned on or is turned way down low. The owners are so cheap that the downstairs guest bathroom has no paper towels to dry hands on. Also, this bathroom has an electric hand dryer that doesn't even work. They dont even put bags in the trash cans. For almost $5, 000.00 per month, you would think they would get better quality food and a lot more of it. One of the staff members was putting rice on one of the plates. The owner yelled at her and told her that was too much rice and made her remove some of it. Also, my love one asked for some orange juice. They watched as the glass was filled half way up with oj and the other half up with tap water!! This place also advertises "transportation provided". Well, my loved one had a doctor appt. The owner begrudgingly took this person. Then the owner told them that they would have to find their own transportation in the future. The staff is very nice. That is the ONLY plus to Bethany Living. So, in closing, I repeat. Do NOT place your loved one here!!!

Response from Azalia Home

November 10, 2020

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write the feedback. I would like to address each point that the writer mentioned in their review. First, we pride ourselves in the quality of the food that we serve. Yes, I told my staff in front the writer to not give a resident too much rice. But it was regarding a specific plate that was to be served to a diabetic patient. The writer misunderstood my comment and falsely presumed that we do not give high attention to the quality of our food. We deeply care about providing high quality, nutritious meals that meet the needs of each patient – and I was concerned about giving too much carbohydrate to the diabetes patient. Second, I gave the writer’s loved one orange juice with mixed ice. She mentioned that we “mixed juice with water”. I serve my patients the way I want to be treated – never water with juice. Third, we do provide transportation for a very small additional fee, but if that is something that the family does not want, they are responsible for arranging them. Fourth, writer mentions “owner is cheap, no toilet paper, hand dryer not working”. With regards to the toilet paper, there was a very brief time period when one of our residents had a psychic issue hoarding all the TP in the house and putting it in the toilet. We have tried different measures to deal with their behavior – and this is something that’s been resolved. I am sorry the writer could not find TP – but our resident and staff knew where we left them and did not have a problem. Today, there is TP in all the bathrooms all the time. With regards to the hand dryer issue, it became malfunctional once and we quickly resolved it. The mechanics of the hand dryer is outside of our control. Lastly, with regards to the house temperature, we keep the right temperature comfortable for all of our residents all the time as per regulation. I want to make clear, we do not change the temperature to save of cost. Thank you for taking the time for writing the feedback and hope this provided you with additional clarity. Should you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me personally. Best, Milyung

I am pleased so far with this place and the people working here. From the outside I thought, okay a house, but inside it is spacious and clean. I like that all the residents get their own room since my Father is very with it at times and likes his space. My Father's fist day was today and he seems to like it. It is conveniently located to my job so I can visit just about anytime, I was told. We are happy to find this place.

The am very happy with the care from the staff at this community. We like that the community is clean and a nice enviroment. The menu is very good and she likes the good variety. My sister offers to participate in the acties that are offered. I am very happy with the care that she is receiving and would recommend another family for the care of a loved one.

We like this care home

The caregivers are nice and they take good care of my grandma. She seems to like the food and they keep the home clean. They do try to keep her as active as they can. My only concern is that the house doctor only comes in once a month.

I feel comfortable with my dad staying at Bethany Living II!!

They make homemade good tasting food. My dad likes to participate in the arts and crafts. The home is clean and well taken care of. The caregivers are able to take better care of him than the last place he stayed. This is a smaller home and it works for us.

A Good Experience Here At This Care Home

My mother is no longer here at this care home, but our experience was a good one. Unfortunately they were no able to provide the take of care my mother needed. Overall it was a nice experience, everybody was very kind. They have a great staff here. They do a good job with keeping the home nice and neat. There are activities offered for the residents. The food is pretty good. It was a good experience and I would recommend this care home.
