Avendelle at Garner

Our mother is a current resident and we have been very happy with the level of care that she is receiving. We like the smaller, home-style setting vs a larger facility. The staff does a great job, and the nurse is top-rate. Our mother is very happy at this facility.

My mother was a resident of Avendelle of Garner for 2 years. The administrator and staff were very wonderful and took great care of her. I would highly recommend Avendelle of Garner.

Really liked the owner. We had a lot in common as he is a Vietnamese refugee and I served in his country. It is a house in a residential area. Lots of cars on the lot. Inside was "ok" and staff was very friendly. Patients that I saw were in later stages of dementia so not a lot of activity.

The owner is wonferful, but if you want your family taken care of around the clock , this is NOT a good facility. I was highly impressed initially, but as time went on , I started observing how staff treated these patients when family wasn't around. I assure you, what you see is not what you get, my relative was injuted here. She could walk, feed herslf and use the bathroom on her own. She broke her hip in 2 places while in this facility, and now has 3 metal rods in her hip. She is 81, can no longer walk, feed herself or use the restroom, and no one knows what happened. At least that's thier story for now. They love to keep the patients medicated so they don't bother them. They have a few good staff, put 5 fingers up, and you will have a few left if looking for good staff. Again, the owner is wonderful, he really cares about the patients. He is not there 24 hours a day. Take your family members here, i suggest you have someone there all the time.

My mother's stay at Avendelle is going delightfully! I am very satisfied with her care! She says the the food is delicious, and there are many activities offered for her to participate in! This is a wonderful facility!

I liked that Avendelle is a residential care home and it was so close to my home. The gentleman who showed us the home was so nice. The way they had it set up is very accommodating to handicapped accessibility. The reason we did not choose it is the cost was too high.

I am happy with the care that my mother is getting from is outstanding community. This is a home feeling environment with very caring staff members that are always friendly and helpful to here needs. She is really like the variety of the meals. She is participating in activities with the other residents. We would recommend the care and the value of this good community to other families

So far there are not many residents living here yet, however my dad is getting high level care and attention. The community is kept clean and smells good from what I have seen. My dad is using feeding tubes so he is unable to enjoy the meals. He is going to Physical Therapy and enjoys the activities and hobbies. For the most part the staff are very friendly and helpful. I can get answers from the staff when I have questions. If they are unsure about anything they call me to get a clear understanding. I like the open communication and it has been good both ways. A Place For Mom was helpful at giving me a good referral.
