This was a very nice facility, good feel. The people we met where very nice. Opportunities were nice with activities. Only drawback was geographical. Her doctors were just too far.

April 1, 2022Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our community! We appreciate you taking the time to visit us.
I would recommend Autumn Wind in general. The main thing is the staff is friendly. It's a bright, sunny general atmosphere there. There are challenges due to the pandemic, but they try very hard and do a good job.

March 31, 2022Jerry, thank you for taking the time to leave such kind feedback about our community!
When we moved in, the apartment was supposed to have been cleaned. There were stains all over the carpet, and it smelled. During Covid I understand there's added stress, but we expected more. The living space is so small, barely room for basic furniture. Right now they're bringing 3 meals a day in clamshell containers, and there's only a smaller size trash can in the room. Two of those clamshells filled it up, and housekeeping would often leave 2-3 days worth of trash in the kitchen. We told them about ants in the shower, and it was a few days before it was addressed. The toilet wouldn't flush on numerous occasions. One time the response was "Well, I'll try to see if I can find you someone." Not "I'll get someone for you." Or "I'm busy right now, I'll make sure someone comes by." Hours later it still hadn't been plunged, and our loved one couldn't go to the restroom. On another occasion, they were out of toilet paper for a full day. On our first day, an employee saw us arrive and stood there for 30 minutes talking to the driver of a florist's van, and didn't acknowledge us until we said "Excuse me, can we get some help here?" Visitors are not allowed in the building due to Covid, and there was one instance where the staff snuck an unauthorized visitor out the porch of our loved one's room so they wouldn't get caught going out the front! No one ever showed our loved one how to use the microwave, even after we asked repeatedly. They were wonderful trying to get us to move in, but once we got there, that all went away. There was only one staff member that would actually follow through and get things done. We had to give 30 days notice or we would have pulled out after the first day. What could have been such a blessing to our loved one, and to us too, was an utter disaster.

My mom and dad have been really happy here. They will come in and clean their spacious 2 bdrm apartment. They provide 1 meal a day and if they can't come to the dining area they will bring the food to them. The staff is very good and they communicate well with me. They engage them to join the daily activities. They have a nice porch and a walking path. I would recommend this community.

A Place for Mom has scored Autumn Wind Senior Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
