March 23, 2023Brenda, your review has warmed our hearts. Thank you for your trust in us to care for your loved one here at Arabella of Athens. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
My husband moved into Arabella Memory Care about 3 weeks ago. Everything went as well as it could under the circumstances. I was so looking forward to him being able to use all of the activities in the facility. But Dreaded Covid had moved in and they had to be restricted to the room as much as possible and meals were taken in the room. Many of the staff were out with covid and the staff was short handed, but they managed to take care of the residents and I was impressed. Since the move in after a couple of weeks, they lifted the restrictions and my husband has adapted very well to his surroundings. He seems happy and that is what matters to me. I am very pleased with everyone at Arabella. The staff is very friendly and attentive to family and the residents.

January 30, 2023Thank you for your positive feedback, Brenda! As a community with the mission to always provide passionate service, passionate cleanliness, and passionate care, your kind words mean a lot to our team. We are appreciative of your trust in us to provide a fulfilling and vibrant lifestyle for your loved one.
It's sufficient for my family member's needs. It's adequate, but I don't think it's the best around. I think the care needs to be improved on. They don't seem very giving to the residents.

We chose Arabella of Athens because of the convenient location and just the reviews that we read through online. I also heard about them from others that I knew and they all said it was a great place. Everyone you come into contact with seems like they genuinely want to help. The facility itself has a lot to offer and at first glance it is very appealing. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking.

March 17, 2022Cristie, thank you for your kind words about our community and staff! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you and your family.
I chose this community because it is close to family and close to home. The food is average. I have been working on a flower bed in the courtyard. The caregivers are very good and very dedicated. They have gone out of their way to keep themselves away from COVID exposure and to keep the residents safe as well as all of our staff. Our activities director tries so hard to get as many people involved and participating in activities, with social distance procedures, as possible. I would absolutely recommend this community. It is worth your time to take look and consider Arabella.

May 20, 2019Thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback.
I loved the facility, however it is clearly for completely independent people or completely dependent with nothing in between. My recommendation was Country Place because it did have 3 varying levels of care that I felt fit the needs of my Brother and wife more adequately. However, my nephew who has no experience with senior care is the decision maker. The turn off for me on day one was the person showing us immediately, without meeting them said they needed to be in memory care. My Sister and I both said they were not that bad at this time. However, she was able to convince my nephew of that so that is where they are. He was told that once in memory care they could never go back to assisted living. This was supposed to be a DADS rule. DADS says No, that is not true. So they are in memory care and recently my Sister in law has been very confused. She has had UTI off and on. I would like to encourage them to drink more water. I find every facility fails in that area. They need to be reminded to drink water and water should be cold. I drank a cup there and it was warmer than room temp! it's memory care, so remind them to drink water and cold water is better. Also my Brother is diabetic and is being fed sweets. Why? He has never liked poultry, but I go and see him staring at a chicken salad sandwich and chicken broth soup...are there no choices????? I see a delicious hamburger in the serving area...for staff????? They are very high paying residents and deserve to have needs considered, especially dietary needs.

The staff at Arabella of Athens are fantastic with my dad. They have programs for him. They have a lake outside and benches where you can fish. The building is just over a year old and it is beautiful. The food tastes good they offer a good variety and dad is even gaining weight. This is a gated community that closes at seven. The families do receive a code so they can visit at anytime.

A Place for Mom has scored Arabella of Athens Senior Living 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
