September 22, 2021Thanks so much for your feedback. We appreciate you being open and honest with us.
They have recently got an all-new management team. communication is good between the staff and our family is good. They keep us well informed and up to date. I don't think that very many of the staff have received the vaccine yet. I would recommend this community to others.

What really stood out to us and enjoy the most is how friendly the staff members and residents are. The staff treats everybody fairly and are so attentive to our parents. They are always there to help out and we could not be happier with where our loved ones are at.

March 31, 2021Joseph, thank you for the 5-star review! We are so happy your loved ones call American House home.
This community will be better after covid, The rooms are very nice. The staff was friendly but there were times it took a while to get help. I would definitely recommend this community to others

I really didn't like the way the property was managed in terms of the regimented management style. The property itself was nice, but there was no energy. Not well suited for my parents.

The community needs more staff to help with the residence and I would recommend this community if your loved one was truly independent and did need care services.

I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone. My loved one developed MRSA during the time my loved one was there. I feel they were comprised as well. There was no bath for my loved one for three weeks. The Director refused to talk to me. I believe the Vice President of the company is no a nice person.

American House has great value, due to COVID they did not offer to many care services but they really did the best they could. They did offer a lot of activities at this community, they had a variety of card games, a pool table and a movie theater, but once again due to COVID the residents could not participate in activities. We really liked the director we spoke with, he and the other staff members were very helpful and very friendly. The layout of this community was very nice, and had a homey feeling to it, they even have their own Veterans section.

November 23, 2020Cindy, thank you so much for your positive feedback and taking the time to post this review. We are happy to hear about your experience at American House.
My mother has been at American House Coconut Point for 4 years. They have gone down hill over this time. They have gone through so many people in upper management, dining staff and head nurses. My mother has had a few unfortunate circumstances that were handled in the most unimaginable ways! Besides the front desk attendants and a few staff members, this place has become a nightmare!

Not sure where to start....my father has been a resident for almost 4 years. The rooms are small but equipped well. They do have several activities for residents and the gals at the front desk are amazing. That is where the good ends. They are in their 5th executive director and wellness director. Lack on consistent management effects the residents and their care. They are NOT quick to answer call buttons and medication passes make me cringe (I have observed numerous times). If there is a skilled technician they pull them out and "promote " them. Great for the few employees but awful for residents. New technicians come in and have no experience or just don't care. Almost impossible to get hold of management team to address issues (again) and when you do they are full of misinformation. AH needs to get their act together, stop constant turnover, and show they are really there for the residents and not just for their rent! Had high hopes for them and unfortunately they are one of the better places in the area.

I would recommend American House to a friend. The food is very good. The rooms are a little on the small side but they are comparable to others in the area. They have adequate outdoor space for residents to use.

I am a diabetic who doesn’t eat red meat. When I visited American House an administrator, [name removed], assured me I would be served appropriate food. The result: carbohydrates, fried food, breaded food and red meat. I have complained time and again to the administrators [name removed] (from corporate headquarters) and the chefs [names removed]. Instead of serving me replacements they have let me go hungry. The other day dinner consisted of turkey patties with nothing accompanying them. Turkey patties allegedly are made from Grade C turkey—cancerous turkey. I threw them out. I can’t sit without triggering neurological pain and take meals in my room. On two occasions the kitchen failed to bring them, notwithstanding my complaints. They could care less about my health. The portions here are skimpy. When they serve fish, it is farmed. None of the food is organic. Chef [name removed] told me he would like to serve organic food but lacks the budget. On most days they serve chicken and ham. Since I don’t eat ham I sometimes end up with chicken twice a day. Diabetics aren’t supposed to eat potatoes, yet they often serve them to me twice a day. They used to serve me vegetable soup. After I complained that it had sausage, instead of replacing it with some other kind, whenever they had vegetable soup they simply stopped serving it to me. Before moving here I visited and had two meals. The food was delicious and the portions ample. This was the primary reason I took up residence. But nothing like it has been served since. If the situation changes I’ll update this post. [name removed]

September 17, 2019Ted, thank you for the 5-star review of our community! We are happy to hear about your experience at American House.
Sales staff was not available at scheduled time. Business office stepped in and answered what she could. Saw a model IL 1bd/1ba. Too big. Beautiful, but parking is a problem. As with AHBS, supervised independent living possible. Medication distribution an extra for both AL and SIL. Studio in SIL not available, but in AL very large. Need to go back when sales person is available.

This was our first visit and the facility was beautiful. We met with [name removed] and she took us on a full tour. Obviously the new construction makes a HUGE difference in the eye's perception. Only real drawback was the shear size of the facility at more than 200 residents at full capacity.

June 25, 2019Thank you for your 5-star review of our community. We appreciate your feedback!
My mother was in the memory care unit at American House Coconut Point from [dates removed] at which time they gave me 45 day notice to move her due a fabricate lie. The executive director is a liar and does not have the personality or compassion needed for the job. The Memory Care Unit at Coconut Point in Estero is deplorable!! The lack of accountability, the lack of supervision, the neglect of the residents, the unsanitary conditions, and the lack of concern and care for the residents is disgusting!! My advice to anyone considering this facility is to "Keep Away" and do not believe the false statements that they provide. Their main objective is to collect the monthly check, not the care of your loved one!
