The staff is very nice and they are concerned about my mom’s wellbeing. They are efficient at providing things right away. I have spoken to everybody and people know me and my mom. I have no complaints about the rehab. The social worker knows what he is doing and he cares about everyone there. The therapist explained everything she wanted to do for my mom to help her with her strength. The nurses tell me whether she eats or not; they are my eyes and ears.... Read more

They are courteous and know what they are doing. There is a confusion in the bill and they changed the name on it. So have to go to the office to change the name. I just visited two days ago and they need to cut my loved one's hair at least once a month. It looks like no one cares. There's no extra service over there. The room is clean and nice. Most of the time it's clean and there's only a smell of urine sometimes. I go there every week so there's not much problem with communication.

The people taking care of the patients are very nice. I will say I really like that my mom is able to go outside from time to time. The staff is so friendly all around. The nurses are very friendly too. I wish there was a way to implement more vitamins into the care. The receptionist at the front office is also very friendly. They do call me and give me updates regarding her care. When I call my mother on the phone, I cannot hear her because of the other screaming resident and this is hard on my mother. When I go there I clean her room and bathroom. The bathroom is bad and there are four people using it. I sweep the floors. The food is horrible. I try to bring her food. I would not feed this food to my dog.

I was not happy with it. The nurses were good but I did not like the facility. My loved one was left alone. It is very dreary. Patients have a hard time leaving their home to go there. A woman passed away and she had a cat left there and they threw the cat's belongings away in the trash. I think that is cruel.

The facility needs to be updated. The nurses seem concerned. They call me about anything that goes on. The meals are really good.

I do not believe there are enough dedicated workers. I had a meeting two weeks ago where I spoke with the CNA's and the director asked me to talk with them. I think I reached some of them. They put the patients in the day room who are not mobile. They put my mom with people who cannot understand or talk and she needs to be around people who can speak. She did have some rehab. They are very dedicated. The therapist is very good. The nursing care is a hit and miss. The day room needs more cleaning. The rooms are pretty clean and the closets need attention. Sometimes the food is poor on certain nights like Sunday nights. They give her bread, a piece of meat and cheese. They need more vegetables and chicken.

The nurses are attentive with him and my brother-in-law is not easy to get along with. The staff is pleasant. I know the therapy is very good. The communication is very good too.

The therapist did good when arm was broken. My mom keeps throwing out her clothes and no one does anything about it. They know mom has memory issues so the garbage people need to look for it. She likes the food. They are good with communication.

Overall Abingdon is a good facility. When my sister visited (who works at a nursing home herself) she thought this facility was twenty times better than the facility she works in. I have just had some concerns about being properly informed about my mother's care.

From what I can see the rehab is on par. They have activities. I like the occupational and physical therapy. I like the day time nurses too. The food quality is good. It is an old facility and it is not clean. The tiles are wet and stained near the air conditioner.

The atmosphere is real good. The outside and surrounding areas are good. It's clean and smells nice. I got stuck in the elevator though, because I didn't know you had to push a code. They need to do better at responding when patients call them. The staff are not friendly, they don't say hello, and they are rude. Dinner is not on time, patients complain that they run out out of food and get dry toast.
