Our Family Loves Aberdeen Heights!

Aberdeen Heights is a warm, friendly, family-oriented Assisted Living. I was so nervous about moving my mom from her home, but she has loved every minute there! The majority of their staff has been their for many years, and they treat the residents just like their own family. The meals are exceptional, and my mom's social calendar is so much better than mine, because there are so many wonderful activities for each resident to participate in! I recommend Aberdeen to everyone, because the people there make it a very special place. I know my mom is in wonderful, caring hands!

Quality of Care Has Plummeted

My mother was at Aberdeen from [date removed]. There were some fabulous things about Aberdeen: the activities directors [name removed] and [name removed] had fun activities, the food was wonderful, and mom's room was spacious and cleaned regularly. Also, many of the nurses and nurses aides were very compassionate and attentive. Unfortunately, there was a consistent problem with mom not getting the proper dosage of medications, The nursing director always seemed put out when we would ask questions and was not forthcoming with information. She would send a nurse's aide to come talk to us instead of talking to us herself. A couple of months before and aft+er Mom died, several of the best employees left Aberdeen: both activities directors, the executive director, the sales director, and some of the nurses. It's a totally different place than it was a year ago. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone who is looking for assisted living for someone they loved.

Management has declined after loss of long time director

My MIL recently was a resident, previously the management was very caring and in touch with family at all times but since the Director has retired within the past few months things have definitely changed. When we moved my MIL there we were told it was an age in place facility but after my MIL was admitted to the hospital and rehab we were told she may not be able to return. Management was supposed to go to the rehab facility to evaluate, they never showed up forcing my MIL to spend the holidays in a foreign facility instead of where she had lived at Aberdeen. A few weeks later my MIL had a stroke and was admitted into hospice care where she passed. One would think that management would have reached out to the family to inquire how their patient was doing within the 3 weeks they were away from the facility, we have yet to hear a peep from Aberdeen. Not the caring facility it use to be so don't be fooled by previous raving reviews.

Has gone downhill, significantly, since veteran director retired [date removed]

Over the past 3 months under the new director: - Employees are not happy. - The food quality has dramatically declined from a 10 to a 2, and the portions are smaller. My mom ends up snacking in her room at night now because she's hungry again. - The nursing staff has been cut in size and now hours reduced. The Director over nursing is very difficult to work with and we get vmail more than actually talking to her, and rarely get a call returned. - Along with all these cuts in staff and food quality/portion, the rates have gone up! - The final straw was when the Activities Director turned in her notice. She has been holding the place together. She was amazing at her job and they didn't appreciate her. I would not recommend anyone moving their loved in here anymore. There are some sweet people on the nursing staff and I feel bad for them, I hope they can find somewhere where they are appreciated.

Friendliest staff who knew all the residents by name and spoke to them. Lots of daily activities and on the weekends. Good communication with doctors. Great food. Large apartments. Amazing staff, top notch facility, Mom is thriving!

The staff is always cheerful, they love their jobs, most have a lot of longevity in their jobs so they are a family. Aberdeen Heights has a LOT of activities and each is well staffed and they bring good energy. I especially like happy hour on each Wednesday at about 3pm-ish. They have a wonderful musician who comes every 1st Wednesday of the month, then a different musician comes in every 2nd Wednesday, and a different musician comes in every 3rd Wednesday, etc. Some of these great musicians have been coming into Aberdeen Heights for many years. They play music the residents really enjoy. Also love their cardio drumming class, and Mom has started going to the exercise classes regularly and at her other place I couldn't get her to go. Love [name removed] the director!

Highly recommend, a great fit for our family

We chose Aberdeen Heights because they are an age in place facility, so she can stay here until end of life which is important because we don't want to have to move her if her level of care increases. The rooms here are a good size and are laid out well. All of the staff are long timers which says a lot. They have plenty of activities for residents, every Wednesday they have happy hours, they bring in live music, etc. They do not a lot of variety on the types of foods so they could use some improvement there. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

A Nice Place

It is a good place. It is really hard with the Covid-19 . The food is healthy. The room sizes are great, bigger than most. It is an older building but they keep it up. They have a few courtyards for the residents to use as outdoor space. The people are just wonderful. I would recommend them to others.

“There’s NO place like Home!” Three years ago my Mother, [name removed], moved into Aberdeen Heights and found this to be true. After her second week there, she truly felt this was her new “Home” and “a new beginning” for her. There’s NO place like Aberdeen Heights. When you walk through the doors, you feel so welcomed by the Staff and immediately sense a feeling of “Family”. Every activity, whether it is Family Bingo, “Chef Mike’s” special meals, celebrations, thoughtfully planned daily events, music & entertainment ( the list is endless)... are all centered around the Residents and their Family. My Mother thoroughly enjoyed her 3-years as a Resident and member of the Aberdeen Heights Family. The transformation in her life and quality of life... are Priceless to our Family. She looked forward to EACH new day and the wonderful “Blessings” it would hold for her....and she cherished her wonderful Friendships, all the Love, Respect, and Care she received from the Staff that she “adored”. Mother looked SO forward to what new activity Amber had planned each day...SO much “fun & laughter”. Our Family will always be forever GRATEFUL.... to Anita and the Staff. “There’s NO place like Aberdeen Heights” for your loved one. Thankfully & Sincerely.... [Name Removed]

Aberdeen Heights is outstanding

My 90-year-old mother has been a resident at Aberdeen for just over 1 1/2 years. We evaluated several local assisted living facilities in the Tulsa area prior to selecting Aberdeen, based on three primary conditions: 1) resident support, assistance, personal care, 2) food quality (the food is excellent!), and 3) overall cost. Aberdeen has proven to be a very good choice. It's core staff has consistently demonstrated exception sensitivity and support for mother's needs during her physical, mental, and emotional transitions. My only "beef" is that Aberdeen's parent company, Sagora Senior Living, has implemented some routine cost-of-living increases in recent months which may be considered unreasonable, given the outstanding resident-centered policies and practices at Aberdeen. Bottom line, I trust Aberdeen's management and staff to take good care of mother now and going forward, and highly recommend the facility to others.

Aberdeen Heights....A HOME away from HOME".

My Mother, [name removed], moved to Aberdeen Heights 3-years ago and it has been nothing but an AMAZING and WONDERFUL experience. After the first week there, although missing her home of many years, she felt that "Aberdeen" was now her NEW home {"My second chapter in Life"... she referred to it as}. The staff at Aberdeen Heights is absolutely WONDERFUL, CARING and ATTENTIVE in every way possible. The activities planned daily give each Resident the opportunity to engage in something they enjoy doing. I personally have NEVER experienced such dedication to care. It is truly, a "Family" community. When your loved one moves into Aberdeen Heights, from that moment forward, YOU become a part of the Aberdeen Family. From 'Family Bingo Night', Monthly Birthday Celebrations, "themed" meals, Music and Entertainment and currently, The Aberdeen Heights Summer Olympics 2019. Every activity planned is designed to so that each Resident and their Families may participate, if desired. Our family will be the first to tell anyone, that there is not another place like Aberdeen Heights. My Mother, [name removed], would also tell you that it has been some of the "Happiest" yeas of her Life and a tremendous BLESSING. We are SO very grateful and appreciate to the STAFF at Aberdeen Heights in Tulsa. - [Name removed] & The [name removed] Family
