A and J Assisted Living

[name removed], my friend of 28 years had long ago asked me to get her care if she ever needed it, as she had no children and no family near her. So that time unfortunately arrived. I was so lost in looking for the best situation for my friend. At first she was in a larger institutional style setting. It was terrible on her and me. Then I looked into group home care. I went to several homes in the area. Then I came upon A& J Assisted Living. I called the owner [name removed] and asked about coming to see her facilities. She said anytime, I said I am free right now. She let me come right over. They did not have to get things ready before I came. She showed me around both of the homes they had available. Everything was clean and she showed such care to the residents as she was showing me around. I asked her lots of questions, [name removed] even gave me answers to questions I hadn't knew to ask. The other facilities did not offer this support and guidance to me. She treated me like family before I even decided

We chose this community because it had two locations, if one of the locations is damaged during a hurricane, they have a very good relocation plan for the elderly residents. The manager is very detailed with emergency plans in general for all types of scenarios. The room sizes are average for small group homes. I am impressed with the fact they prepare hot meals twice a day and they do provide snacks as necessary. They are strict with their diets as well. Our favorite part about this facility is the management and the staff, they genuinely care about all of their residents and treat them like family. They provide a lot of on site services, especially medically. It makes it easy for people making arrangements for their loved ones. My wife has also put her father here and confirmed everything I have said.

I'm so happy to have found this facility for my brother. The staff was kind and considerate, providing exceptional care. The facility was always clean, spotless and home like. I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking care for their loved ones.

The property is well kept. The staff is friendly. The food is great. The price you pay is good. The residents there are calm. We really like this facility.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. This seemed like a nice place, overall, however I don't think the small group home style community would have been the best fit for my loved one. Everyone seemed very friendly, but we were looking for somewhere more active.

Enjoyed my talk with Angella. Lovely young woman with good rapport with her residents. The facilities are clean and residents are calm and seem well cared for. Price is right for my budget. Little concerned about open doors. Though mom isn't a wanderer yet, her confusion about her surroundings may be an issue. Lack of controlled outdoor area is disappointing.
