I am giving 16 Penn fails in so many respects. I have lived here about five months and have noticed numerous shortcomings. Before this, my spouse and I lived in two other senior apartments. First the Positives: 16 Penn has three things going for it: (1) location, (2) location and (3) location. Outside of location the buildings has nothing special about it. You can easily walk to the library, two grocery stories, numerous restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Outside of location, there is nothing to recommend 16 Penn. The Negatives: Simply put the good folks that run this place simply do not have their act together. Here are some example: Text messaging: The building started a process of being able to send group text messages out from the office. To date I have received exactly one text message regarding Botox treatments. It does not send out messages regarding the Bagel morning, Wine Down, etc. Candy machine: The building got a candy machine last summer. It is currently in its first location. First location was near the entrance of the lower level garage. Second location was at the far corner of the upper level garage. Third location, after numerous complaints about the first two, is inside the building near the entrance to the dog walk. That location is down a flight of stairs. That means residents who use walkers, etc., cannot access walk. You cannot have everything you want: This is the common response for any suggestions/request. For example, twice a month the building provides bagels and cream cheese. One time, I suggested the building get a toaster for said bagels. I was told: “you cannot have everything you want.” Another time, I suggested butter, same response. So people started bringing down their own toaster and butter/jam which would disappear as soon as they go back to your room Every time there is a game the building says it is going to provide snacks so people can watch the game in the building’s living room. Numerous times, only drinks provided were “weird” beers and weird sodas (anyone for black cherry lemon lime?). I asked about providing some Coke and 7-Up. Was told “you cannot have everything you want.” Also, today is a Friday. Earlier this week a notice was placed on the wall of living room that said it had been reserved for that Sunday. Guess there will be no football party. And of course no text message was sent out. At the last monthly Wednesday “Wine Down,” the following was provided: (1) wine by a wine seller, (2) one large bottle of 7-Up, Diet 7-Up, and Doctor Pepper, and (3) three smalls tubs of cheese. No crackers, no pretzel, nothing else. Security: This location is downtown. Once the office closes, there is supposed to be a night watch-person but they must not be walking the building at night. Twice in the past two weeks, residents have come down to the kitchen area (where the free coffee machine its located) only to find a homeless person sleeping there. Should you or your loved one move here? Unless you want the location there are a lot of nicer places out the

I currently live in the building after living in two other senior complexes. The only thing going for this building is it’s location. It is a short walk to the 16th Street Malls. There Is a large number of restaurants nearby, three grocery stores within a mile, cleaners, drug stores, etc. Heck there are even two 7-11 Quick Shops within two blocks. If you don’t have a car it is perfect. But other than its location, it is just an apartment building. Every two weeks they serve bagels in the morning. You always see the same three to four people.

The manager and the management company are the issue here. Most residents are unhappy including this one and I currently live there. No on site maintenance. Issues such as no heat and no hot water. Perimeter of property is never cleaned up including trash and dog poop. Trash inside the building is never empty. Building is non smoking but always smells like cigarette smoke and marijuana smoke. The management company takes the stance of "oh well". Management company has no experience managing a luxury building their expertise is managing tax credit properties and this one is managed the same way. First visit will look good but not when you are actually there. Past issues have included homeless in the entry ways and people that jump over the patio wall and then have access to the entire building. Management always blames someone else such as the city for these issues but it is their issue. Elevator has never worked. Next level up is the daughter of the owner of the management company so when you speak to her you get no where. When you tour just look at the finishes in the bathrooms and you will immediately be able to tell what you are in store for!

Liked this residences a lot. Felt safe, clean and [name removed] was very friendly. Apartment was adequate. My dog would be welcome. Move in and lease cost seemed reasonable.

[Removed]., the director, is just wonderful. The lady that takes care of my mother, [Removed], is wonderful as well and my mother just loves her which I think is important. We are more than happy with the whole experience and very pleased with 1st Premier Home Care.

My mom is doing great after the fourth person they sent. The caregiver has been a better fit for mom. We have been pleased with the caregiver. My mom tells us the caregiver takes directions well, When my mom suggests a way to do something, the caregiver has been able to adjust to my mom's inputs.

I am happy with this service and that they were able to get someone to come as soon as needed. We have several caretakers for my mom. We are happy that they help with personal care and being a companion and doing some of the household responsibilities. We have found that the care takes are willing to help with the needs that my mom is needed. We have recommended this service and care to other families needing good in-home care for a loved one.

I've been a client of 1st Premier Home Care since Dec. 2015. I have been very pleased with my caregiver. She is well trained and caring and does a good job anticipating my needs. I've not had to call the office very often, but when I have, they are always professional and answer all of my questions. I'm so happy to have found them!

Things are going fine for us with 1st Premier Home Care. My mother has adjusted well the caregivers that come in and help out. She seems to be doing better with their help and the staff has been nothing but friendly and kind and followed all my instructions I given them. It has been a good experience for us so far. I would recommend this agency to anyone.

I am currently a client with 1st Premier Home Care and am very pleased with my caregiver. She comes every morning to help me get ready for the day. After helping me get bathed and dressed, she makes me some breakfast and does the dishes. About twice a week she does my laundry and puts clean sheets on my bed. She also does some housekeeping and takes me to the lab for my monthly blood draws. It's been a very helpful experience and much needed.

I'm happy to have found them for my mother. I live out of state and had been worrying about my mother since my dad passed away. Her health has been declining and it's getting more and more difficult for her to manage daily tasks. Well, thankfully, when visiting my mom in March, I met a very nice woman at the grocery store who told me about 1st Premier Home Care. We have been using them since April and I am so relieved and don't have to worry so much now. I speak with my mom daily and she informs me that she is happy with her caregiver and looks forward to seeing her every day. Not only does she provide care to my mom, she's always become her friend and confidante.

I had a stroke and could no longer care for myself. I was hesitant to ask for help but my daughter found this company and interviewed them for me. She was impressed so I gave them a try. I have been so pleased with my caregiver, Sylvia, that I went from just 3 hours a week of help to daily help. She is kind and takes excellent care of me. She helps me get dressed in the morning, makes my meals and cleans my house. She also does my laundry and takes me to my dr. appointments. Now that I have help, I don't know what I would do without them. Many thanks to 1st Premier Home Care for helping me stay in my home. I recommend them highly.

I've been a client of 1st Premier Home Care for just over six months. I am very pleased with my caregiver and the backup caregiver they sent to my house when my caregiver was on vacation. My neighbor has recently signed up, too, and she is very satisfied with her caregiver and the agency, too.

I don't normally write online reviews but I felt it was important for me to let folks know that this is an excellent agency. They have sent my mother a wonderful caregiver, Carol, for 2 1/2 years and we are so pleased. She is such a warm and caring person. Any time Carol needs to be off from working with my mom, the agency sends very good replacements who are well trained and caring, too. I certainly am very pleased and think you will be, too.
