Oasis Family Resort Assisted Living Facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL

It was one of my top choices. They have just come through for us. I am real impressed with what they have been able to do. When I saw the place, I fell in love with it. It's huge and roomy and clean, and they take excellent care of her, they are very professional. They have aides and physical therapy, and an internal medicine doctor to come and visit. They keep up with her primary care physician. They have never complained when I have to call and ask them something. They have been very cooperative, with everything. They are very helpful, and I know I can go and visit anytime. They get out and go to the park that is right next door. Just a great Place!

Heart To Heart Inc Assisted Living Facility in Hollywood, FL

When I was in need of a short stay for my spouse, we used Heart-to- Heart. From the initial point of contact to visiting the home, I knew this was the right place. The staff are professional, friendly and caring. As well as providing a home friendly, clean environment, with home cooked meals. Thank you Heart-to-Heart for being there for us at a time when we needed assistance the most.

I and G Assisted Living Facility in North Lauderdale, FL

I feel that I & G nursing home is a wonderful place to reside the elderly who can no longer care for themselves. My grandfather lives here for about a year now. Every time my family goes to visit him, the staff is friendly and helpful. They also give us details on how my grandfather is doing and they truly seemed to enjoy their jobs. The facility was very clean, updated and had many amenities.

What are care homes?

Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Like assisted living communities, staff at care homes typically help residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and medication management. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:

  • Help with personal care
  • Medication management
  • Mobility assistance
  • Nutritious meals
  • Social activities and outings
  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry

Learn More About Care Homes in Broward County, FL

Broward County, home to Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, offers a diversity of living areas, from sparse suburban to heavily trafficked downtowns. With this wide spectrum comes many entertainment and leisure options. Broward County’s tropical climate houses dreamlike beaches and pristine wetland nature preserves farther inland — all providing countless opportunities for residents to appreciate Southern Florida’s natural landscape and to continue living an active retirement. Don’t miss the nature walks in Big Cypress National Preserve or the airboat tours of the Everglades.

In Broward County, residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.

Cost of Care Homes in Broward County, FL

The median monthly cost of a room in a care home in 2019 was about $2,800 in the state of Florida. However, the cost of living in a care home depends largely on location. Since the homes are private residences, costs are tied to real estate value and therefore may vary greatly.
