Adelya Senior Home in Yorba Linda, CA

It was just divine timing that a spot had opened up there just before I was able to look at facilities. It was the first place we saw and it just felt completely right. Nothing has changed from that initial impression for any of us- it is clean, warm, and friendly. The residents are very well cared for. [Removed] are really sweet people to work with. I did not learn about it from the internet nor did I look online for reviews. I personally spoke by phone with a few family members of previous and current residents, and they were all very positive.

What are care homes?

Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Like assisted living communities, staff at care homes typically help residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and medication management. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:

  • Help with personal care
  • Medication management
  • Mobility assistance
  • Nutritious meals
  • Social activities and outings
  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry

Learn More About Care Homes in Lakewood, CA

Greetings from Lakewood, a lovely town in Los Angeles County, just north of scenic Long Beach. Lakewood is a close-knit community that offers something for everyone. Originally designed as a town for retired veterans and their families, Lakewood has the reputation of being an ideal place to settle down.

In Lakewood, residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.

Cost of Care Homes in Lakewood, CA

The median monthly cost of a room in a care home is around $3,000 in Lakewood and $3,500 in the state of California. However, the cost of living in a care home depends largely on location. Since the homes are private residences, costs are tied to real estate value and therefore may vary greatly.
