Both my Mother and now my Mother in law have been residents of Otsego Place. It has given my husband and I a great feeling of comfort knowing these two ladies had the best of care. The staff are like family, the food is excellent, and there are lots of activies for them to participate in. This is an independent living facility so they can come and go as they please. There are different levels of care so that if Mom has some issues you can taylor the care to her needs. Yes it costs more for each level of care, but good care is not cheap and we want the best for our parents.
In January, my family was asked to move my father to a locked memory care facility. I checked multiple facilities and after visiting Perry Lutheran homes, I felt like that would be home for him. When we moved our father, he instantly seemed very content and at home. I can't say enough about the staff at Perry Lutheran homes! They Make sure they're residents have a fun time and are very caring of them!
Overall they really are working hard to try to meet the individual needs of the senior individual. My mom has, for example, gluten intolerance, so they're working with her to accommodate that with their meals. They've been willing to work with her in terms of unique needs, or even just billing and cost needs that she has. I think they do a really good job for being a fairly small facility of really caring about the needs of each individual. The only shortfalls have been: 1) what everybody has been facing - reasonable turnover in staff. And 2) some maintenance items that continue to have a lag in getting addressed. But overall, the care for the individuals and customization to meet individual needs as well as willingness to work with my mom in terms of cost, etc., has really been quite good. Overall I would recommend it.
