Urbandale Health Care Center

I appreciate all the information that I was given when we put my mom in Urbandale. I have gotten a lot more information from the social worker from Urbandale, and the nurses call me if something happens. They keep me informed. My mom is impressed with every single person, she thinks they are very nice. I think they are very skilled in what they do. I have already recommended Urbandale to several people that I know.

I do not have any problems so far. The therapists have worked with my loved one. He is acting a whole better working with the therapy. I have a meeting this afternoon about goals and we hope to get what they expect from him. I think they are really going to be good.

The staff is great. I would recommend Urbandale Health Care Center to a friend.

The physical therapy is great! The nurses do the best they can, and the facility is clean. They are meeting my loved one's needs.

Urbandale is a good place. I have only seen good things there. I like the people there, they're friendly. The residents are also friendly. I would recommend them to a friend, that's how much I like it there.

The experience with Urbandale has been okay. The staff has been very friendly and the therapy is good. Sometimes the staff could be better about emptying the commode. We sometimes have to wait hours for it to be changed out. They take care of it but it would be nice it was more often.

The rehab therapists seem to be working with her and meeting her concerns. They all seem to be very nice. They don't degrade you or talk down to you. When you buzz, they come right away. They listen to her concerns. The staff is friendly. The nurses are always there. When my mom needs medication, they give it to her. I haven't noticed any dirtiness. The breakfasts are good, but lunch and dinner tend to be bad. The food isn't the greatest. It's alright. If you find a nurse, they'll take time to talk to you.

I certainly would recommend the facility! All of the staff has been great. They are keeping her room clean. The meals are very good!

Overall, our experience has been so great! The communication has been kind of difficult in terms of trying to get information and knowing who to go to for what.

We had such a great experience at Urbandale! One thing I would like to mention is that the air conditioning unit is broken. Even just as a visitor it is very hot. My loved one has mentioned that the meals are not great. She just isn't liking the overall quality of the food.

We like this place. Most of the rehab therapists I've met are very good and very patient and try to do the very best they can for my loved one. The staff was very attentive. A few of the staff were not friendly. The food is good. He said their food tasted like mine. At first, they weren't so good at talking to me. It seemed like they didn't want to bother me with the problems. I let them know they can call me and they've been much better since.

I think overall care has been good. They've made accommodations for my loved one. The nurses seem to be very attentive. I haven't found anything that would raise a concern about the cleanliness. She said the food was delicious. The only concern is that they said that they don't accommodate special diets. The contact I have had with them has been clear and concise.

The rehab therapists were very good. The care was very good. I think the staff friendliness was good. The nursing care was average for the industry. The cleanliness was average. My loved one was satisfied with the food. Communication was average, maybe a little weak. Their communication with her is good. I don't think they have time for communication with people like me, the family members.

Overall, it seems like a great experience. It was a little warm in the common areas. One of her nurses who helped us when we were leaving, she seemed to be really tight with my mom. Her room was very nice. The first few days my mom was there, she didn't understand that she had to press the call button and nobody told her that until the 3rd day.

I wouldn't recommend sending anyone there. There are so many things wrong with it. I had to get her out of there. There's no individual staff in the room. Some of the people are nice, but it was so depressing. The facility was dismal and old.

Overall, we had an okay experience at Urbandale.

My loved one needed more rehab. The aides were really good and they came when needed. They do not have enough to tend to the number of patients. The staff come and show support and concern. They are very friendly people. She got a medical condition while she was there. The nurses should be washing their hands even though they wear gloves. They did not clean her sheets and leave dirty towels on the floor. My mom did not have any problems with the meals. We would have to constantly ask them what is going on.

What they have done I have been pleased with. When my loved one called she mentioned that she is happy with her therapy services. The times I visited I thought about what I saw everything clean and orderly. The hallways were not cluttered with anything. She's a little fussy when it comes to the meals. To me, the meals are adequate. The communication was very helpful. They called me a couple of times for different reasons the communication has been excellent!
