My mother was 86 when she moved in. She particularly liked the owner. COVID-19 hit & mom's health rapidly declined. She needed a higher level of care. In a Catch 22 situation, nursing homes were not accepting new patients. The level of care at Silver Maples was not sufficient to protect her. Silver Maples didn't seem to grasp the reality that they were stuck in an unusual situation. In the interest of their reputation & wellbeing of my mom, they had to make special accommodations for her. Mom was prone to falling. Nevertheless, their steps were not sufficient to prevent her from falling many times. The ambulance crew came many times & transported her to the ER. Once she had to have 9 staples in her head. We emphasize our opinion that in normal times Silver Maples seems fine for assisted living residents. Silver Maples did not adapt to the unusual set of circumstances. My mother suffered because of that. Unfortunately, no one knows when another unusual situation is going occur.
