I have nothing but high praise for Shalom Village. A good friend died and her husband had to go into a home - Shalom was the only option as he is an Orthodox Jew and kosher (I should note that only a handful of residents are Jewish and inclusivity is a major theme at Shalom). Since that time I have become his local power of attorney as his family lives abroad. I cannot fault Shalom. The staff are lovely and really seem to enjoy the residents and each other. At first my friend was reserved and did not join in group activities. The Director of Recreation called me with lots of ideas and created new group activities specifically designed to get him socializing. One year later, he participates in everything! It's not the newest facility but it's clean, well maintained, friendly and I would recommend Shalom to any loved one without hesitation.... Read more
