I am a few hours away from my mom, who is 84 and lives alone. After two recent falls, I engaged the services of A Place for Mom to help me find care for her recovery. I never had an unanswered call or a need to ask twice. I can highly recommend this service.

They were very friendly and helpful. It was expensive, but not sure how it compares to other companies/caregivers but we were in a pinch with my dad's surgery. Overall ....coordination from the lady at the hospital and also one of my dads nurse recommend to use your company . Everyone was very nice and friendly . Helped my mom and sister out a lot over the weeks until my dad was better . Very prompt and professional. Offered next day service for original appt and were able to have help the following day . Overall excellent experience and would recommend.
Read MoreI set up Senior Helpers for my Dad following a hospitalization and rehab stay. I initially set up approx 12 hours per week and slowly decreased the hours as he improved and became more independent again. Near the end of using this service, we were only asking for about 2 hours every other week and they had difficulty staffing it because the home care workers needed more hours and the drive to/from the south Myrtle Beach area to where my Dad's house was located in North Myrtle Beach was becoming longer than the time spent at the house. The home care staff was wonderful with my Dad. They always showed up on time and completed any tasks we requested. I do not live near my Dad so their help was vital for me. The portal also helped me track the schedule and review the visits as they were taking place. I would definitely look into hiring them again if needed, but I would check about the distance issue between the Murrels Inlet office and my Dad's house.

We had one caregiver who was very dependable and showed up all the time. The fill in staff called out a lot. My MIL needed diaper changes and more care than I think some of the staff were used to providing. We also had hospice who bathed / showered her. I don't think the staff there would have been able to handle putting her in the shower. One Caregiver [name removed] was the only one that did any light housekeeping, cleaned bathroom etc... The other staff did none of that. The staff was very nice. Without someone in my home, I could not leave so I appreciate the service of someone being here. It was the only way I could go to work, so if someone called out, it did cause a problem. The staff were friendly and always responded to our concerns. 90% of the time, the staff were dependable. They provide assistance to patients who do not need a lot of skill, but minimal assistance with ADL. It was the only way our family could leave the house, so the service was appreciated.

I am the primary caretaker of my 86 year old father. We live together. When Mary started helping me out just twice a week it was such a huge weight off my shoulders. Literally like a breath of fresh air. She helped me with cooking and cleaning and gave me a chance to go out and do things that I wanted to do, but hadn’t had the time. A true blessing.

When my wife was still in the hospital after multiple surgeries I was lost on how to take care of her because she had aphasia from a stroke. Then she came home. I had Medicare professionals come to the house but it was only for about 4 hours a week. I talked to Senior Helpers several times before I actually contracted with them. I started with 14 hours a day and gradually reduced it to 6 hours. The caregivers have been wonderful and the staff has accommodated my multiple requests. I highly recommend them if you need home care.

What our family likes the most about the Senior Helpers is their flexibility. The staff were very flexible toward meeting my uncle's care needs as his medical needs changed.

We have some workers that are excellent that we now use on a regular basis. It's been a process of weeding out workers who work well for us. If a friend asked I would tell them to give it some time and try different workers. Don't be afraid to tell the agency if a worker is not working out for you. This community was the first to respond and we liked the nurse during the interview. She is easy to work+ with and does train her staff as more issues come up.

We used home care services through Senior Helpers Murrells Inlet for my loved one. Our experience was not great. I would not recommend Senior Helpers Murrells Inlet to others.
My father's care givers have been very attentive and patient and help around the house also. Love the community. Friendly neighbors throughout. Great location close to the inlet/ocean but not too close.
