Do not recommend Seacare per our experience.

I was not happy at all with SeaCare. I would tell others not to use this company, but use [company name removed] instead. Sea Care employees spent most of their time on their personal phone and not taking care of patient. Also, the caregivers could not speak clear English or help cook food.

Sea Care was amazing for my mom.

The level of care, flexibility, and thoughtfulness that we received from Sea Care was incredible. Kindness seems to guide all of the people we met with, from leadership to every caregiver. Once we felt chemistry with a particular caregiver, [name removed] worked with us to schedule as many of our days with her as possible, giving my mom a sense of calm and care that were a gift.

Easy to work with

Scheduling was pretty easy, but we did have a big issue with a non-employee showing up one day (our second day) - didn't set a great tone for the rest of the very short time we used them. But the caretakers were VERY friendly.

Didn't fully meet our expectations

The agency did a good job sending the same caregiver. However, when the caregiver left the agency, we were given short notice and the agency did not have a replacement. We were left to find care on our own.

Terrible Night Shift!!!

We had a wonderful day shift. But every single person and there were 4 different ones we tried slept all through the night and did not check in Mom. She even fell out of the hospital bed!!!! They broke the tile around the window because they leaned the recliner so far back in the chair to sleep. They literally showed up with their pillows and blankets. The owner of SeaCare after replacing 4 people basically told us to hire a different company to do the night shift. It was completely unsafe and uncalled for for [removed] dollars a month we private paid! We had cameras and everything was recorded. They did not care. It was horrific.

Response from SeaCare In-Home Care Services

January 17, 2024

This review is so unfortunate, especially as we refunded you every night you reported sleeping (which was three nights), replaced every caregiver you had a problem with immediately, paid for ALL damages you reported, and were in daily communication with you as you and your family yelled at our caregivers, administration staff, and the owner. We worked tirelessly with your mother and were there until she passed peacefully. You adored 90% of the care team who provided 24/7 care for your mom. SeaCare stands by their work and their commitment to safety, loving care, and clear and transparent communication. I am sorry you are still upset about your experience-we did everything in our power to ensure your mother was safe and supported.

I still have a mostly favorable opinion of them. We've just had a series of circumstances that were unworkable.

We've had trouble with getting and keeping consistent caregivers. I think the the problem has been that we requested a caregiver for just one day a week, and most of the caregivers are wanting full time employment. So if your needs are limited like ours, they might not be a good fit. But that could be the case with any agency.

Lack of Services

I would tell others that you may want to go someplace else. The care staff just sat and talked on the phone. The caregivers didn't actually care for my loved one. I was the only one caring for my loved one during the time they were there. Overall I was disappointed with the lack of care and the high fees associated with this.

I would say that they have been pretty good so far. There have been some callouts on days that they were supposed to come. They sell the services as more inclusive than what they initially told us. They make some meals, but do not the light cleaning. I feel this is left up to the individual aide. They are very nice, but some of the caregivers have their on autonomy.

Excellent Care Less Worries

I would 100% recommend this company to anyone. With memory care you might have loved ones who can be difficult, this company makes it easier for the family. The care is amazing and my loved one is receptive to the caregiver being able to gain my loved one's trust. The management sends out emails to keep the communication open. I was able to make a specific request and they were able to accommodate this request.

Good Experience

[Name removed] came to our home and introduced us to [name removed] who spent four hours with us. She was kind and caring. She sought chores without being directed, did laundry/changed bed sheets/vacuumed/gave my husband a shower. Not sure if we'll continue after the pandemic eases, as husband may have to move to an assisted living facility - we're taking it a day at a time.

5 Stars Is Not High Enough!

SeaCare In-Home Care Services helped my family care for my Mom who suffered from dementia. The caregivers provided the kind of in home and personal care you need when a loved one's health declines. The owner [name removed] was so supportive and communicative through the process. She even came to the hospital after Mom was transferred and brought a lovely card and flowers -- honestly, so touching because you can tell she really cares. The best part was that she was available at all times-dealing with her as the owner was a truly impactful experience. The Caregivers who work for SeaCare are incredible. SeaCare went out of their way to make sure the right care staff were matched to not only care for my Mom but to make the experience as stress free as possible for her partner as well. I would definitely consider hiring them again if the need arose. I highly recommend SeaCare In-Home Care Services to anyone looking for very good care provider for their loved ones!
