Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens

So far, my loved one's stay has been very, very nice. She is happy and we appreciate it.

The overall experience with Ozanam Hall has been good.

It's just an incredible experience. I just love my aunt and am very protective of her, and I'm so happy she's here. I have recommended and I will continue to do so. I ran into one of the nuns in the elevator, who was telling me they need more residents in the beds. I let her know they are doing such a great job, especially for a senior living facility. I let her know I will keep doing everything I can to spread the good word. The therapy, my God, amazing! She gets therapy six days a week! They should be a role model for being clean. The communication is so great. I even had the Activities Director come to me and talk to me today, he let me know they even have pet therapy there. There's just so much I'm learning about and it's great.

I feel that they did what they were supposed to. The nurses were very nice, helpful and fabulous! The rehab services were excellent! My loved one did very well there and was happy with it. There was no problem with the cleanliness and the communication was fine. The parking was horrible.

My aunt is very pleased with Ozanam. She told me she is having two hours of therapy a day which I really like to hear. It is a very clean facility.

So far everyone has been really helpful. It is clean, warm and inviting. I actually just spoke with the dietitian today and the meals are going well.

Ozanam Hall is superior to other facilities and they generally care for the people there. There are several staff members that stand out but they are understaffed. They are caring and are always there to respond to any requests. We have a lot of restrictions and it is a little problematic with the dietary limits as to what is available to my loved one. They have tried to be responsive.

Ozanam has been great! They give excellent communication and I would definitely recommend the facility to a friend.

It's a lot better now than when we were here about five years ago. The therapists got my mom walking already. She had said that they told her she was doing really well for her condition and that made her happy. She says the nurses are good to her but my mom says it takes forever to get something from them and for them to respond, but she is on a lot of medications and that is likely affecting her impression of that. She does say she's been eating three meals a day. When I call and talk to people they answer.

The staff was very friendly! The place was very clean, nothing was amiss. I think she had some trouble sleeping at night and attributed it to the environment. The communication was good. At some point, it was difficult to get a hold of one of the social workers. That was the only difficulty there.

It is comfortable but it is not ideal. The staff could improve and there is not enough staff. There are minor things I have to ask for. The Rehab director is easy to talk to. Sometimes I get updates and sometimes I have to contact them but I am not the primary proxy.

When something is addressed they take care of it and that is something they have been very good about. They have recreational therapists that are amazing! It is an old building but it is clean. The meals were very good and tasty. They keep my mom so clean which I appreciate. No one talks on the dementia floor. My mother felt like she was in the Calgary graveyard. No one talks! My mother has had to move rooms a lot but we are thankful for the room move today. We wanted them to move her bed but they were not willing to move the bed. I think a lot of the problem is with the social worker. I do not feel that they tried to get enough feedback before resolving the issue. I provided solutions to keep her in the original room because she loved her roommate so much but the social worker did not budge.

My mother did not have a good experience here. Everything needs to improve. When they call for help to get changed they take forever. She had to wait to go to the bathroom. They sit people in chairs in an area and they fall asleep with their necks hanging. They should treat each patient individually. Every time I came the nurses were having a meeting while my mom was in pain. The therapist told them there is something wrong. They continued to give her the same medication when she was in pain. She was in pain and I told them they should have taken her to the hospital sooner. It is very upsetting and it is not acceptable.

The therapists are all very good, he is coming along good. His rehab is going very well. The aides are very good. You got the aides, they are excellent and help a lot. His nurse is great. And of course, the Sisters. He gets all his meds on time. The facility is very clean. I would say immaculate, cleaner than my house! The meals are pretty much on time. They're very good at communication. When I ask them, they always find out. They're very attentive.

Absolutely, I would recommend Ozanam! My loved one is doing really well with rehab therapy services here. The staff is really excellent! Particularly the ones in the evening, they have been especially careful and attentive with my mother. The nurses have been a great experience so far at Ozanam! They have really been taking care of my mother and have been extremely helpful along the way. I do not see any issues with the cleanliness whatsoever. I was surprised, the meals have actually been great!

The staff has been wonderful and caring to my mom! Everybody has been wonderful! They take the time to communicate with the families on every step.

Ozanam is great! They are trying and my mother is pleased. The entire crew works to provide to the patients. They are a little slow. They try to keep my mom clean and they help my mother with whatever they can. The friendliness is good. The nurses are doing all they can for the patients. They have their hands full and they try the best they can. The doctor is very good and diligent. When my mom transferred here there was some confusion about her medication. The facility is clean. The food needs to improve a great deal. I complained to the kitchen that the food there is starchy and no veggies. It is salted way too much. Almost all of the time the protein is way over seasoned. If I ask for the information they have a protocol for the privacy of the patient. I have to press them to get information.

The staff has been great and my loved one has received nothing but good care. The facility is very clean. The meals are so so.

My loved one was very pleased with the physical therapy aspect of it. I thought that the people were very nice. He had a nurse, she was excellent. The social worker was very good. I think he was very pleased with the director. An aide was very impressive. When he first got here, no one was there to give him a walker. After that experience, the nurses stepped up. They were very responsive. Even though it was old, it was clean. The one thing is, they have a lot of therapy cats running around there. If a patient was allergic, what would happen? The other issue was with his food. He has all his wits about him and they gave him a menu to select food items, and very rarely did they fulfill that. Ozanam definitely needs an upgrade in terms of equipment. For example, television has to be at least 10 years old. In addition to that, the bed was old. The water pressure in the bathrooms had to be fixed. My loved one was initially put in a double, and that room was very, very tight. They moved him to a single room.

Overall, our experience was great!
