Masonic Village at Elizabethtown

Our family had come to know Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA years ago. In October we came to love it even more as my mom moved in. It's only been 2 months and she's very comfortable in her new apartment. She's making new friends, being more involved in activities, and just enjoying the beautiful campus grounds. Mom knew Masonic Village is where she wanted to move to when the time was right. Just knowing she would be taken care of when her health changes was very comforting for her. As it is for my family and I. I enjoy visiting mom at Etown, it's a friendly, relaxing, secure and beautiful home. Someday it may be my home too.

My wife and I are new to the Elizabethtown campus. Because we arrived in the midst of Covid, we haven’t had the opportunity to get to participate in the full range of possibilities that the Campus offers…but so far staff and residents we have interacted with have been extremely helpful and supportive.

When mom, 84, agreed to move from Wisconsin to Masonic Village in Elizabethtown to be closer to family, she had only seen the place in photos. Now she knows it is more than uniquely beautiful buildings; the people are the magic of Masonic Village. She was assigned a resident mentor who helped her learn the ropes and always remarks how nice the staff members are. From the gem who helped us navigate the entrance paperwork and choose an apartment, to the maid who vacuums her carpet, she has found encouragement and cheer. Mom loves having a doctor, bank, post office and hair salon right on campus. An avid reader, she visits one of the libraries daily and visits with other residents, while paging through the newspaper. She has gotten involved in activities, exercises more, eats better (Does not miss cooking at all) and has things to look forward to again. Transition- leaving your home state and moving to a smaller apartment- can be hard. Masonic Village helped her adapt & thrive.

My parents struggled for 2 years before they decided to move to Masonic Village. When they did move, my Father was in the hospital, so we only moved my Step mother. The Masonic team was so awesome to work with. They worked with the hospital and helped my Father, rehab back to independent living. I'm feel so grateful and happy that they are receiving the care they needed. They are so patient and caring. I would highly recommend for anyone to live there on Campus. It's a wonderful community.

The sales and marketing team ([name removed]) was Friendly, very capable, Knowledgeable and responsive.

When my father passed away in December 2020 we knew mother could not live alone in their house. Mother had completed a physical rehab stint a few years earlier at Masonic Village and always said how much she enjoyed her stay and if the need ever arose she would consider residence there. After a few phone calls we were meeting with a Sales Associate and looking at assisted living apartments. It was a unanimous decision this was the place for mother especially since she gave it her seal of approval. Not only is the campus beautiful but every person we met was very friendly and helpful with a smile and a wave. We had 3 goals for mother and they were to make her safe, secure and happy. The staff Masonic Village Elizabethtown helped us achieve these goals and made it as painless on us as possible. I cannot say enough about how helpful and friendly everyone has been and continues to be. I sleep well knowing my mother is in professional caring hands.

The employees are all friendly and courteous and anxious to help in any way they can. The last 14 months have been a serious test for every resident and especially hard for the staff. I don't think you could find a more friendly atmosphere to reside in and accommodating staff to look after the residents. It will get even better as all the extra activities reappear. The grounds are maintained in pristine fashion in all kinds of weather.

After visiting the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown and touring several of the buildings, we agreed that this was where we wanted to be for our retirement living. The fact that the Masonic Village is a continuing care retirement community was important to us. When life patterns change, there is help available right here on the campus. the campus is beautifully landscaped and very well-maintained. There are many activities available and you can be as active as you want to be. We are very happy and feel privileged to be here !

We moved to MV at the end of May 2021. Since then, we have found MV to be a great place to live. The campus is stellar and the support given to the residents is excellent. Covid has put a dent in our appreciation of all that is offered, but there is still a lot good to be said of the living. The ability to take daily walks on the beautiful campus is just wonderful.

We are having an overwhelmingly positive experience living at Masonic Village. The staff is friendly and helpful, the campus is beautiful all-year round, and the walking trails and paths provide scenic walks. Whatever your interest or if you are looking to learn something new, the opportunities are many…..all which provide welcoming friendships!

We moved to MV to be closer to our families. It has been a great experience and our children are so happy that they are close to us! We feel safe and all our medical needs are taken care of right within the MV. There are many volunteer opportunities for us both on campus and within Lancaster County. The Elizabethtown community has been very welcoming. We are able to see our Grandchildren and our son and do many activities with them.

My wife and I moved into a Sycamore Townhome in January 2020 having lived in a temporary apartment since August 2019. The on campus move went very well, the administration was very helpful. Life on campus is wonderful...all services are first rate...the people care about us. During this virus period the campus administration has assured our safety and done a superb job. The meals are excellent; we feel blessed to be living here. We are engaged with Sell Chapel and its many services; religious life on campus is fulfilling. The music program is first rate with three chorus' performing on alternate Sundays.

Masonic Village is an avery beautiful place to live. It has numerous and varied activities. The effort that they made to keep us safe during the Covid -19 pandemic was beyond what most of us expected. They go to extremes to keep us safe and comfortable.

Everyone makes you feel at home and it is home

I have recently moved to Residential Living at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown,PA. I am very pleased with the friendly helpful atmosphere of the staff. The grounds are landscaped beautifully with each area different. It is just beautiful with the older buildings and the newer ones made to blend. From the housekeeper to the computer tech, no request is ignored. The staff is just great!

Looked at a number of CCRC communities. All were very nice with their own set of amenities. None were inexpensive. Could have moved into any one of them and been content. Masonic Village offered the most things for the money and options to decline things (at a savings) until I actually needed them. Masonic Village is a large facility. There are pros and cons to that. The pros: financially stable, able to deal with anything without having to go off site. (That’s why I came here.). Offer many medical care items on site. Anything you need is within a reasonable distance if not on site. A large variety of optional activities to select from. Biggest thing I like so far is how friendly everyone is, from other residents to the employees, everyone always willing to assist.

I selected the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown as my retirement community home after visiting various other retirement communities. During my tour of the Masonic Village facilities and grounds I immediately noticed that: there were no dust bunnies on the floors of any of the facilities; no cracks in the walls and no water stains on the ceiling; no chipped, aging, and/or cracked paint; the furniture was spotless and maintained; and the Masonic Village campus was beautifully manicured and maintained. This indicated to me, and assured me, that this was an organization that cared, and was willing to invest in providing a secure and vibrant retirement community for the residents while maintaining the facilities and grounds in an admirable manner. Based on the above, I moved into my apartment a day before the Masonic Village locked down due to the COVID-19 virus. Since I was a “newby" and we were in a stay-in-place mode, I needed to quickly familiarize myself with the capabilities of the Masonic Village operational, administration, support, and maintenance staffs. Each individual I contacted had the same helpful, can-do attitude, and welcomed me to the Village. My interface with the social, medical, maintenance, and spiritual staff members at various times, has been very helpful and pleasurable. The Masonic Village organization has demonstrated the sincere concern and desire to protect the Village residents by emphasizing the recommended COVID-19 physical separation and facial protection. As a result, to date, the Village experienced only two COVID-19 cases from within the staff, and no cases from within the over 1600 retirement community residents. The friendly environment that prevails here between the residents has enabled me to meet many individuals that have been residents of the Masonic Village for over 10-15 years and more. They all have expressed their satisfaction and praise of the amenities and many activities provided by the Masonic Village. And, oh yes, hows the food? The food service has been excellent. Although the restaurants had to be closed due to the COVID-19, daily meal service has been provided. The menu has reflected the seasonal, national, and/or local calendar events and seasonal availability. Further, the meals were delivered to the resident’s door. In summary, I am very thankful that I selected the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown as my retirement community home. I recommend that you consider it as you visit the various other retirement communities. I am confident that you will not find a better retirement community than the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

I have had numerous experiences at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. My parents both lived here in an apartment. They would always tell everyone how much they loved living here. They both had to be admitted to the healthcare center and had excellent care until they both passed away within 2 months of each other. Now that both my husband and I have retired, we sold our home at the beginning of the year and moved into an apartment in an area called Compass Apartments. This campus has so much to offer and the staff is wonderful and attentive. We are convinced we have made the best decision for our future.

We have been a resident for approx 7 months and had visited other places in the area. We decided that Masonic Village is where we wanted to be. Since our move in we have not been disappointed at all. On property medical center, great meals, great entertainment. There has not been one concern that has not been promply solved. Every one should become familiar with Masonic Village before making a choice.
