My mom died [date removed], three months shy of her 88th birthday. I wanted to update and expand my review here about my experience with The Nursing Center at Little Creek. Little Creek chose to evict my 87-year-old bed-bound, blind, completely immobile, dying mom 8 days shy of her 24th month of residency - when she would have been eligible based on length of residency to apply for their benevolent aid program. It was then I learned that as a state licensed nursing home that does not accept Medicaid or Medicare - Little Creek does not have to follow the same federal laws that protect other nursing home residents. Please read about transfer trauma and all of the devastation that can occur when facilities do not have to follow federal nursing home laws. This should not be elective.

I've had experience at other nursing homes in Knoxville and I can hands down say that Little Creek is the best! The staff to resident ratio exceeds the state requirement and it is obvious that the staff cares and treat the residents like family.

A Place for Mom has scored Little Creek Sanitarium 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
