We bought a 7 year old unit from the owner and lived in the grove for 4 years. We pretty much redid the inside, paint, flooring, counters, etc and added a deck and porch. Pros: The amenities are great, a pool, clubhouse, exercise center, pickle ball, etc.. We loved the community as a whole, great friendships made and many of us, the residents, planned events, entertainment, holiday meals, etc. It is a community that can keep you busy! Cons: There are flooding issues (as there are in many areas here in Foley, but many sinkholes in the Grove were not and have not been addressed and compromise the safety of several homes. The rules are not enforced which leads to issues among the residents. The pool is under maintained and on several occasions residents are the ones cleaning the scum off the tiles , which is a part of your rent to live there. The Price of lot rent, (you dont own the land, you lease) has gone up significantly, but equal to south Florida parks, so not surprising. Legitim

A Place for Mom has scored Grove 6.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
