I think they do a great job. The people I've dealt with are very outstanding. Their customer service is great. I have no complaints whatsoever. We had a little miscommunication hiccup at the beginning but were able to resolve. The first caregiver they sent disclosed that she was a recovering addict in our first meeting with her, which I commend her for, but another family member was a little offended. They promptly sent us another caregiver. I think they're very friendly and very caring about their patients. They haven't been able to provide much care since my loved ones won't allow them to. But anything they have done for us, grocery trips, things like that, they've done well.... Read more
Total monthly costs depend on the type of care provided and number of hours per month.
The owner of the company came out to do an assessment. He was unprofessional. He talked about being an alcoholic. The nurse was supposed to show up and she never did. He said we could start 24 hou care immediately but then called when care was supposed to start and they did not have a caregiver. It was a mess and cause me more trouble then it was worth.

Response from FirstLight Home Care of Asheville, NC
January 31, 2024Dear Kathleen K., I've reviewed your comments. I don't recall ever meeting with you. Our RN and Executive Admin performs most all our assessments. Can you give me the date and time in which you indicated that I met with you? Thank you, -Andy Rickman
The agency was not professional and the experience was terrible. The caregivers was always late to the assignment. The company could never find a caregiver, and they couldn't find anyone until the last minute. The first night we had to call as no one showed, until we called. The company finally sent a caregiver who was a male, and this made my female loved one to feel unsafe along with the family. The company could never have the same caregiver over the course of time we used the service. Due to the poor service, we decided to no longer use the company.

I think they're a good company, and they work hard to please the families and the people they're caring for. I have a few issues with their staffing, but that could have been due to Covid. There was inconsistency in who would show up to provide care. For the most part they were prompt and had good communication. I would recommend them to others.
